  1. Remote Control: Improve Multi-Monitor Experience

Business Case (I know how you PMs love these):
The current CB 1902 implementation is going to make this conversation part of our helpdesk script:
“What screen is the app on?”
“Can you move that window to the monitor where X is showing?”
    “No, not that one.”
    “Nope, still don’t’ see it”
“Ok let me reconnect in full screen, please accept the prompt again.”
“No no no, don’t hang up the phone, that’s not how this works.”
“Ok, you should see a prompt to allow me to connect.”
    “Nope it’s there, trust me.”
“Got it, thanks. Ok, let me move…

  2. Remote Control - Initiate a Wake-Up if client turned off

When remote controlling a device it would be great if a prompt could come up and ask if you want to wake-up the device either using Wake-On-LAN or Wake-Up in client notification based on site configuration if the client is turned off..

  3. [Remote Control] We want you to provide CmRcViewer.exe as a single application

In the customer environment, help desk users have installed the Configuration Manager console and used the remote control function.
In this situation, when the load on SCCM server is high, there is a problem that a session can not be established temporarily.
We would like CmRcViewer.exe to be provided as a single application without depending on the load of SCCM server, as it will interfere with help desk operations.

    Additional Information:
Although not supported at present, we have confirmed that session establishment can be performed by executing the following files.

    1. Copy the following files from the SCCM primary site: …

  4. Remote Control Green Bar for Users should show First Name Last Name (Username)

In the bar today, it shows the user SAM account name. It would be very useful to show the name of the person. In our environment, we use obfuscated usernames for Domain Admins as a security measure. It does mean when we activate remote control, the user at the other end does not have any idea who connected unless there is a prior conversation. Seeing the First Name / Last Name on the title would help use salivate this pain point.

  5. multiple connexion with cmrcviewer

    Bonjour,

Nous utilisons CmRcViewer.exe comme seul outils de prise en main.
Nous voudrions pouvoir prendre la main a plusieurs sur un même poste (ou pouvoir voler la prise en main) car si un collègue oublie de quitter nous somme bloqué.

  6. SCCM IP Address and DNS not updated in real time cause issues at Service Desk

As users roam from wireless to fixed networks the SCCM ip database is not updating frequently enough with the end user's IP/DNS entry.

This in turn causes frustration for service desks where they have to ask the customer to obtain their IP address manually.

Would be great if the remote control tool was able to obtain ip address to as close to real time as possible.

  7. Remote Control Privacy

Give an option to Black Out the screen and lock the keyboard and mouse when in a Remote Control Session. This would be useful for public use/open area/lab Student computers

Novell Zenworks had this same feature years ago. (likely still does)

  9. Most recently used list of connections

A Most Recently Used list of connections would be a timesaver!

Or is there other software that can connect to sccm clients?

  10. Ability to track and remote lock laptops without MSA just Microsoft 365 Business account

I've just had a client leave his Surface Pro 6 on an aircraft. No MSA set up, just a corporate Microsoft 365 Business account with Azure AD P2.
I was surprised to discover I could not remote lock the device (like I can any mobile), just wipe it. Please add the ability to use "Find my device" and "Remote lock" without needing a MSA. You removed the ability to sync settings on domain joined machines using a MSA, why insist on having one for remote tracking and security!?

  11. Allow Remote Control connection if logged in account match user that tries to remote

If the user that tries to remote control matches the current logged in user then do not prompt for approval.
This is a common case where a IT support user login to a remote client in order to do support work with higher permission. If there is a connection drop the IT support user cannot remote back to device if the user is not there and the device will be left with a high permission account logged in.

  12. Allow Remote Control on locked user sessions without prompting the user for permission

This happens on Windows 10 if a workstation is locked - remote control acts as if the locked user has an active console session and prompts for permission to take control in that locked session.

The Currently Logged On User column in 1806 is now extremely helpful for detecting these cases to force a reboot but I feel like I should be able to jump into a locked workstation if someone doesn't log out of their device.

We particularly run into this in Higher-Ed with Classrooms/Labs where students/professors won't log off after their class (or hit the power button on…

  13. For remote control why does my left handed mouse not translte like other remote control tools?

I am left handed, yet when I remote control people the mouse translation is lost. I cannot find a setting nor can our SCCM admin. Why is this basic feature not availble when even the horrible Novell ZenWorks remote control can do this. Thisis a huge fail on MS part

  14. Show the remote cursor during remote control

Please allow us to see the remote mouse cursor in the remote control viewer!

We had to create a software that displays a little dot which follows the mouse of the remote user and our tech have to launch it manually when connected remotely, this way we can see where the remote cursor is located but it's of course very impractical.

  17. Remote control default connection via FQDN not NETBIOS. This would allow remote control across multiple trusted domain easily using the cons

When trying to use Remote Control from start->remote control in the console, it is not possible to connect to machine that is not part the same domain as the server as netbios is used. If the FQDN is called than it would be possible to connect to devices in trusted domains.

  18. package remote control viewer in a msi natively

Provide the remote control viewer tool in MSI format "out of the box".
This will permit to distribute this tool to people who don't require the full console ( i.e devs, Help desk, ....).
Moreover, packaging it as a standalone tool will prevent from deploying binaries manually forgetting registry keys that are mandatory to log remote control events.

  19. Disable clipboard sharing

It could be really useful to have a way to fully disable the clipboard sharing during a remote control session.
We can do it with a registry key in HKCU but it can be enabled without admin rights, just by clicking on Action -> Enable Clipboard sharing.

A better solution would be to disable it for a computer in HKLM or ideally directly in the SCCM console.

  20. Remote Control features and improvments

I would like to thank Microsoft to allow their customers to share new and innovative ideas and I would like to present mine from my experience as Desktop Management Engineer in my company.
Initially we were using a comparative tool called LANDesk Management Suite and on the beginning of this year we have moved to SCCM 1511, since then I had received many complains about remote control comparing to the past experience.
I really like SCCM as a whole and I think it is really good tool and really nice features and constant updates, but not the remote control.
    I…
