  1. Word Wrap in Collection Editor

The new collection editor is very nice, but it would be even better if we had the option to enable "word wrap" as part of this new window. I know we can resize window, but often times word wrap is the preferred method for viewing.

  3. Have preview button when building collections

When building collections (particularly query collections) it would be handy to be able to preview the devices/users in the collection as written before you commit. Today we have to edit the collection, update membership, refresh then confirm that the membership is correct. If you have a button inside of "Edit Query Statement" it would save a lot of hassle.

you can’t sort by icon… but you can add the column that shows text for offline/online – and sort by that.

  5. Enable right click WOL a device from inside the console

Allow the built in use of WOL, and right click to wake up a machine or a collection at anytime. Also fix ConfigMgr's native WOL technology to work on common network infrastructure (no Mac-Flapping.)

This is fixed and available in #sccm 1810.

  6. Queries vs Collections

We have also experienced "Collection Creep". A tool would be handy to view/delete collections from a search criteria, e.g: No Memebers, No Deployments, no membership change in 6 months.

This feature is added in the soon to be released #SCCM 1902; via management insight rules to help you clean up unnecessary collections.

  7. Expand Software Inventory to include Office 365 Add-ins

Right now we have to use Office Telemetry to determine what Office 365 Add-ins are being used in our environment. We have a need to report on what add-ins are being used and to also be able to notify users who are using unapproved add-ins.

Please add Office-addins as an additional class of software inventory in CM.

Using Office Telemetry is overkill and the current process is very tedious. We are currently investigating the Git-Hub Get-OfficeAddins but feel that this level of inventory collection should be native to CM. In addition to collecting the add-in inventory data, some reports toā€¦

  9. Referenced Collections

I would like to be able to easily see which collection that my collection is referenced to.

I can easily see what collections are referenced in my collection, but knowing if I make a change to the membership of x collection then it could effect the membership of y collection would be handy

  10. Console device view should allow search/filter by MAC address

We find ourselves trying to go from MAC address to device in the console fairly regularly, especially when troubleshooting things like PXE from the logs (which only shows MAC address) and needing to kill off failed OSD records (which may be named "Unknown" or have a random computer name in ConfigMgr, but you're now in WinPE ready to kick off the TS again, but only have the MAC from ipconfig /all to ID the old record).

The MAC addresses are already being pulled by Heartbeat inventory, but you can't search/filter of part/all of the MAC address.

  11. Add "Client Notification" options for devices (and not just device collections)

Today we can run client notification actions on collections or devices inside a collection.
usually when we search for a specific device we do it from "Devices".
It would only make sense to have these options from "Devices" as well and not just by go and browse in "All Systems" or so

  12. Correct the "Add Selected Items" ribbon button functionality

Currently when you select a collection(s) in the console, then utilize the "Add Selected Item" button you are able to functionally add the collection(s) selected to another collection as a member, however it does not actually add the member of the selected collection(s) to the target collection just the root collection itself.

    Example A:
    1. Open Console and navigate to Administration \ Assets and Compliance \ Device Collections \ Select a collection.
    2. Click the "Add Selected Items" button and then "Add selected items to existing device collection"
    3. Select the existing collection that is to be the target

We’ve taken some changes to improve this. But we believe the remaining behavior of the ribbon being context sensitive to be the correct action. This is the standard design behavior for ribbon context specific behavior.

  13. Enable a column for primary user!

Enable an option to quickly see the primary user of a device (within the columns on the console) I don't have time to individually click machines or run reports to find the primary user.

This is fixed in the just shipped #SCCM 1802 release. For both Primary User, and Logged on user. We still will improve a couple things:
    1) it is only in devices views; and we will add it in more views (collections, etc.)
    2) We actually think we can do even better than this, and use the SCCM fast channel to show currently logged in now users. If you like this idea, vote here:

  14. Add collection location in collection property

Add info of the "Location" if you search for collection.
e.g. we use Folders and subfolder for companies. and each time we search for collections we dont know the Location.
we got more than 5000 collections.. where this is tricky to find out via
    Eyes .

  15. Improve addMembershipRules implementation for large direct membership collection or provide Stored Procedure to do the same

Today we use an automated process to populate our device collections with machines from a fore-front configuration system.

After we had exceeded 250000 machines in some collections adding new machines to these large collections has become a real pain. Meanwhile it takes from 40s to 7 minutes to a add a single machine. The SCCM console cannot be used anymore for large collections. It crashes with OOM when the collection is opened or a new computer is added using right click.

Interestingly execution times don't really differ in terms of the number of machines added in one call of theā€¦

  16. Collection Query re-design request

I am looking the issue/design from SMS 2003 to SCCM 2012 version. I am not sure if any purpose must be behind of this design of collection default query select * from smsrsystem.
Whenever a user create the query based device collection, if there is any modification in the query
He/she shouldnā€™t remove the entire query and apply OK.
If user applies ok, its automatically select * from smsrsystem query will enabled, it will targed to all system which is ā€œAll systemā€ as limiting collection.
It has serious issue in most the companies, deployment is performingā€¦

  17. Show computer state, e.g. different icon for computer that is on, off, user logged on

For each computer under "Devices", display different icons depending on whether a user is logged on or not, or whether the computer is powered on or not (see attached as an example of what this function looks like in Altiris Deployment Console). Such feature instantly allows admins to see which computers are available/online/offline, without having to run a report or ping the computer

  18. add last logged user as column in console

I'd like to add last logged user as a column in the admin console. Our help desk people use this field when calling the user.

  20. Add a column to device collections not only for Operating System but build/releaseid

Is it possible to add a column to device collections for OS build / release id (i.e. Windows 10 1703 or Windows 10 15063.xxxx) to easily identify the installed Windows 10 version. The column Operating System is sometimes not quite enough information. Thanks!
