  1. Use a fixed-width font (like consolas) for better script readability in ConfigMgr in all text-boxes where you type or paste scripts

There are several areas in the Configuration Manager Console with text fields for entering or pasting scripts. The Scripts feature, CI Detection and Remediation, Application Detection, etc. The font used in these areas is not script friendly. Tabs and spaces are hard to discern and the scripts look downright messy. Using Consolas or another monospaced font would preserve the nice looking formatting you've just copied out of somewhere like VS Code, and would make the script easier to read when you go to look at it later in the ConfigMgr Console. Please change it :)

  3. Warn admins prior to secret key or certificate expiry

If you forget to renew your CMG "secret key" before the expiry date, things like distributing content to cloud enabled CMG will fail.

This uservoice is to prompt admins via a banner when the secret key or any self-signed certificates are due to expire.

  4. ConfigMgr Web Console

Introduce ConfigMgr Web Console and remove the need to update the console on every device with each SCCM CB Upgrade as local admin rights are needed to update the console.

The ConfigMgr Web Console might be similar to Azure Portal with Microsoft Intune.

With SCCM CB updates getting released more frequently than before, this will provide benefits and ease of management. The Admins can connect to the ConfigMgr console from any computer in the organisation without the need to install it.

we’ve added web console functionality to Configmgr via MEM tenant attach – and we will continue to add more in the future

  5. Search through Entities in CMPivot

Add a search function to the Entities list in CMPivot, just in case I have no idea where to find what I need to query.

  6. Add separate security role permission for CMPivot

Console users must have "Run Scripts" security role permission to use CMPivot. Can you add a separate security role permission for CMPivot so we can make administrative users with CMPivot permission but not "Run Scripts?"

  7. Integrate a GitHub (or GitHub Enterprise) Repository/Branch as the source of "Software Library\Scripts"

It would be great if you could specify a Git Repository and Branch as the source of the contents of the Scripts Folder. This would allow the approvals to be managed in GitHub with all the abilities around code review and testing.
It could still require an admin approval in the console which Version of the script should be used. It would also make rollbacks to an earlier version very easy.
If you allow having "folders" in the Script folder, each of them could be a repository. You still should need to approve which version to run, but MVPs couldā€¦

  9. Allow CMPivot to search for hidden files

Utilizing CMPivot attempting to search for the presence of a file returns no results even when I know the file is there. Upon inspection of the actual powershell script that ran on the machine, I noticed that the line that calls "Get-Item" does NOT include the "-Force" parameter. The file is hidden, thus will never be returned in the results list.

Why can I not use CMPivot on files that are hidden? Is that by design or is it a bug?

  10. CMPivot Web Portal

We have a lot of people who would love to run queries against our systems (Desktop Support admins for example) that we do not give direct console access to. It would be super helpful to have a web-based interface for CMPivot to allow people an easy method to execute queries.

In addition, a query builder like that of Azure Log Analytics would be helpful as well so we don't have to walk them thru how to write all there queries.

  11. Support for custom table synchronization into Data Warehouse

Issue: Support for custom table synchronization into Data Warehouse

Currently, although a method exists to extend tables that can be imported into the Data Warehouse, we learnt recently that this is not supported. We feel this represents a gap with the following impacts:
    - Not all tables from the SCCM database are currently synced into the DW. Even a common AI table like InstallSoftwareData must be synced via this custom process. This is a table used heavily in AI based software title reporting and therefore a common addition to the DW.
    - Custom inventory tables ā€“ inventory extension/customizationā€¦

  12. CMPivot - Additional operators and joins

I'd like to see a few things added to CMPivot after having a chance to use it recently.
    1. Joins: Would be really useful to be able to join data from different entities, like joining process data with the device data to be able see what makes and models are running a specific process that may have a memory leak issue.

    1. Additional Operators: Would be nice to be able to do a math operation on data that comes back, convert memory values to MB/GB with division, etc.

  13. Bug & Solution // Error The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'v_WindowsServicingStates'

    Windows Server 2016
SCCM just upgraded to SCCM CB 1806

When i run the Report "Lifecycle 01A - Computers with a specific software product" and i select "Windows 10, version 1703" it throws an error:
Error The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'v_WindowsServicingStates'
It Works fine if I for example select "Windows 8.1"

I could reproduce it both environments - Test and Live.

    Solution:
smsschmusers had no rights on the view 'vWindowsServicingStates' for select
set it manually, then it works

  14. To be able to send wake up packet to a client from the admin console

It would be useful to send a wake up packet to a client machine from the admin console to allow remote access if the machine has been turned off. This could be a check box option on the remote control screen. For example: "Send wake up if client is off"

Updating status to completed – this is addressed with the Referenced tab in the task sequences node. That shows all the statically referenced packages, applications, OS images, driver packages etc. and the distribution status.

Thereā€™s a column ā€˜Targetedā€™ which is the number of distribution points used for the package/app. The ā€˜Complianceā€™ column indicates distribution status. Each column can be sorted for quick indication of distribution status.

For each item in this list you can right click to select ā€˜View Content Statusā€™ if you require granular detail.

If that does not meet your requirements, please reactivate this item and let us know what else you’d like to see there.

  17. New builtin reports about Windows 10 versions and builds

ConfigMgr has a few reports about operating systems, but they are not suitable with the new Windows 10 world. Please create new Windows 10 related reports. E.g.
    - chart with Windows 10 versions (Ent/Edu/Pro) and build (including click-through to see the actual devices)
    - report that lists devices with a specific Win10 version/build in a collection
    - report with Windows 10 versions/builds in a specific collection

These are not very difficult to create, but because every Win10 customer needs them, they should be included in the product.

    These are also needed, because:
    - Windows 10 Dashboard doesn't provide drill through ā€¦

  18. Create an SCCM Community Catalog Feature

Creating SCCM Collection Queries is an art, and like most art, some of us are more suited to stick-figures while others produce beautiful creations worthy of a place in the Louvre, featuring graceful sub-queries, artful tabbing and good code practices.

When creating a collection, it would be helpful to have an optional 'Community Collection Catalogue' to choose from, which could have a user-voice style 'Most useful' collections list.

Users could create collections here, possibly even having a community 'wish-list' area for those without skills to request from those who would like to share.

Contributions in the community catalog could beā€¦

we’ve split this into multiple items. This one (make it painless to upgrade admin UI) is completed.

  20. Fix the text in the title bar of the Admin Console to be correctly aligned with the top of the window when maximised

Currently when the Admin Console is maximised some of the text in the title bar is not aligned correctly, it is set too high and is cut off. It displays correctly when the window is not maximised. See attached screenshots for example of what I mean.

This is in 1706, but it has been like this for multiple versions now.

It's only a minor cosmetic thing, but it's quite distracting.
