  1. New Software Center: Hide already installed packages (not only applications)

In the 1802 release, the option to hide already installed software was added but only for applications, not packages.
It'd be a good idea to hide already installed packages, in order to keep the software center easier to the end user understand what still need to be installed.
    Thanks in advance.

  2. SCCM Application Approval E-Mail User Manager

Add either a powershell cmdlet for application approval that allows for a parameter of e-mail to allow administrator to create scheduled function to query users manager through AD, or to add the ability set in the deployment to look up the users manager according to AD - in addition to the default e-mail to the SCCM administrators.

  3. Pending Reboot Indicator in Software Center

It would be helpful, particularly for installing large batches of updates or multiple applications, if Software Center could indicate if Windows has a Pending Reboot. Perhaps an 'indicator light' or something like that in the top right corner. Many times I have been trying to install things via Software Center only to watch the items wait at 'Waiting to Install.' At least one reboot is needed to kick those waiting items into motion.

  4. SCCM updating Office 365 source install files.

SCCM should be able to update the Office Source files when new builds of Office are out. This should be able to be done in the background and automatically. I work with the Office Deployment team have had many customer upset that they need to update the source files for installs.

  5. Limit the number of times that a user is notified of availabl deployment. The used doesn't need to be notified at every login that they have

Limit the number of times that a user is notified of available deployment. The used doesn't need to be notified at every login that they have the same software available but they want to see all other notifications.

  6. Software center shortcut language

It's not really a high priority suggestion, but it needs to be revised. The software center shortcut is in english when Windows 10 system is in FR-CA. ("Software Center" instead of "Centre Logiciel"). The configuration manager properties in the control panel is also in english, but the Software Center main panel language is in french as it should. We don't have this trouble when we are in a FR-FR Windows 10. Actually, our workaround is to create a new shortcut for the users (with softwarecenter:).

  8. Software: Protocol Handler for Chrome Firefox etc

Most of us have web portals where users log tickets, issues, etc. While the application catalog was available we always had a url that we could add to our portal allowing users to browse software.

While the development team for ConfigMgr have allowed direct linking to software using a url, it seems that browsers like chrome and firefox do not know that software: should be the default protocol handler to open Software Center. So this forces them to have to select it as the default manually.

We would like these to be registered for all users.

    This would be meanā€¦

  9. Fix problem with Task Sequences not showing Software Center with Multiple Users logged in

When you have multiple users logged in on a Machine. Task Sequences only show for the user that first logged in.

When calling Task Sequences from PowerShell, the same behaviour is observable, only the first user can call the TSs.

  11. Select all Apps in a Category in Software Center

Add a "Select All" when you filter apps by category. This would allow our Accounting users to install ALL of the accounting apps without have to check dozens of boxes.

  12. Direct Rule or Query Rule based on user device affinity

I deploy apps through SCCM. To deploy a required app to a user that has user device affinity. This eliminates multiple installs when that user logs onto another device. I would like to be able to cerate a query rule or direct query for a collection based on a AD Group that allows me to select a user/computer and have that attached to user device affinity. Deploying applications to only those systems that the user is the primary user. This way users don't get unintended applications installed on lets say a conference room.

  13. Make the request text box a required field for applications that require approval in Software Center

For applications that require an approval in Software Center, make the text box on the request screen a required field, preventing the user from submitting the request until a reason is given. Also maybe make the text box title "Reason for request" - or better yet make the title customizable per application. As it is now, we get most requests with a "blank" text box requiring us to circle back with the user to get this information prior to approving the application.

  14. Software Center Required Deployment Default User Options

Allow the ability to change the default radio button on the Software Center Dialog Box that is notifying users about "Critical Software Maintenance must be..."
I'd like to change this per deployment. Example, I'd like Software Updates to keep the default it has now "Right now"
but change some Applications or a TS to "Outside my Business Hours". I'm going to have users launch that popup when they see the toast notification, and click "OK" to get rid of the window, then the Upgrade TS will start and make for an unhappy user experience.

I'd like to keep the toastā€¦

  15. Enable Forced Reboots After A Certain Period of Time Despite User Control

I would like an option where we can set a window of availability where the end users can postpone a reboot after an update but then is forced to reboot anyway after a certain period of time.

What I mean is that yes, the users get the Software Update Center window that allows them to customize their options but if they don't reboot within a certain period of time, it'll reboot anyway.

  16. Do something with Operating System tab

When deploying a custom task sequence that only contains applications and no operating system it confuses our users.

Suggest to rename Operating System tab with something else like Package Bundles. Or (after you add icon support for task sequences) have custom task sequences in the Applications tab instead of Operating Systems.

  17. Software center Support Remote Connection

Allow Software Center to accept remote connections so support technician can see exactly what the user is seeing and allow for remote operations.
-Assist user with why patches failed to install, be able to view error codes
-Assist user with why an application failed to install, be able to view error codes
-Be able to initiate Application installs,, Patch Installs, Task sequences

  18. Have the "Unable to make changes to your software" window show more information by default

A simple change that would save a lot of time and back and forth with tickets. Just have the "Unable to make changes to your software" window show the "more information" details by default. I can't count the number of times I get this as a screenshot and then have to say "click open the more information drop down and tell me what it says there". Better yet? Just put it directly under the "Status: Failed" on the details screen, and save everyone some clicking.

  19. Suppress "New software is available" for hidden tabs

In newer versions of SCCM CB, we've had the option of hiding certain tabs in Software Center, which has been immensely useful in allowing us to present a cleaner, focused interface to end-users. Among other tabs, we choose to hide the "Operating Systems" tab, since we administer task sequence deployments end-to-end.

However, when we make a task sequence available to those clients, the "New software is available" notification is still displayed for those deployments, and visiting the Software Center obviously won't allow the user to see the deployment. Needless to say, this makes for a confusing UX. Setting "Show notificationsā€¦

  20. Allow the Deployment of a Task Sequence to have a "Available" date and a "Deadline Date" .

I'm deploying a Task Sequence to update our company's machines Bios to mitigate the Meltdown/Spectre. It would be helpful for the enduser, that SCCM would be able to deploy the Task Sequence with a "Available" time/date and a "Deadline" time date, this way the end user is not surprised by the TS being deployed as "Required" and the auto reboot catch's them by surprise.
