  1. Allow install of State Migration Point role on client operating systems like Distribution Points

It would be convenient if we could use PCs with client Windows OS (eg. Windows 7 or later) as User State Migration Points to backup and restore user data via USMT on remote locations, like we already do with Distribution Points. Given that, more or less this would imply the creation and management of a "simple" network share on the client, it could be relatively easy to implement and at the same time relieve us from the burden of using scripts etc. to configure and use USMT manually in our TSs.

  2. MVP-Current Logged User History and Date/Time

With the addition of the current logged user on 1806, it would be good to have a history of log on/log off and the date/time sccm identified it. similar with the inventory history.

  3. Allow Preferred MPs with IBCM and CMG

Not sure which category to put this in BUT I've come across a requirement to have both IBCM and CMG in place, at least temporarily anyway. It would be very helpful if we could use some kind of MP affinity or preferred MP between the IBCM MP and the CMG MP. Obviously the boundaries are ignored as this is internet based. A reg key change (or something even better) would suffice.

  5. Hotfix Rollback Option for the Microsoft SCCM CB Hotfixes Releases

Hello: Microsoft release monthly updates for Microsoft SCCM Current Branch and sometime hotfixes. The hotfix rollback installation for Microsoft SCCM is not straight forward because Microsoft SCCM CB hotfixes installation has own process and procedures which executed in the backend. So it better to have an option provided to rollback the Hotfix.. Ex: KB4339794....

  6. Alert Notification during site backup

Stop subscriptions and notifications during backup. For example do not alert on unhealthy role because they are stopped by backup task.

  7. Servicing Telemetry / Version Upgrade

Air-gapped / never-connect, never-transfer networks are left with no method to perform any upgrades due to the requirement to submit telemetry data. The offline servicing method is not a valid method to perform these actions due to security regulations. No amount of assurances from the Microsoft team about the content of files will suffice.

Telemetry data would have to be plain-text, human-readable, and of an appropriate size to allow manual transcribing to permit this methodology to work. Even then, some information which Microsoft may seem as innocent / standard is likely to prevent export on some networks due to variousā€¦

  8. Upgrading Secondary Site Servers to 1802 failed due to prereqs detection

At a customer I've updated the Primary Site Server to 1802, this went without problems. The customer has 7 sec.sites. From ConfigMgr Console I started the upgrade which failed. In ConfigMgrSetup.log it stated that the SQLSysClrTypes.msi failed to install (see attachment). This prerequisite was already installed on the server. Also the 'Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Management Objectā€™ was already installed. Which eventually gave the same issue.
I've worked around the issue by removing the MSI Installer registrations of these 2 prereqs in the registry. The upgrade was now able to end successful.
Somehow the Upgrade sequence doesn't check if theseā€¦

  9. No possibility to upgrade to 1802 on a secondary site with cd.latest

At a customer with 7 remote Secondary Sites, connected through a very small satellite WAN connection, we would like to schedule or manually start an upgrade to 1802 from the cd.latest instead of the Upgrade through ConfigMgr Console.
As this method will copy one GB of data our customer would like to have more control on when this data is sent over and when the upgrade should start. A manual or offline upgrade through the cd.latest would be helpful.
As far as I could find, the only possibility is through the Console.

  10. Site status reset counts

Need to Reset counts of status messages for all site servers. Multiple selection required

Right now only the selected site is only available to reset counts from the console. if multiple site selected reset is greyed out.

  11. Expand Secondary Site Re-Assign Distribution Point to Migrate DP co-located on Secondary Site

    See https://configurationmanager.uservoice.com/forums/300492-ideas/suggestions/9197001-ability-to-move-distribution-point-from-one-second

Currently, if the DP is co-located on a secondary site server, you are unable to move or re-assign the DP to a new site. Expand this capability to have the ability to move or migrate the DP to another site, specifically a primary site in this scenario.

  12. Support changing the name or domain of SCCM servers

Currently it is unsupported to change the name or domain on any SCCM servers. However, there may be scenarios where a potential change in domain is required, such as a domain refresh or a company purchase/divestment. Right now it would mean having to rebuild the SCCM environment in the new domain, which can be extremely costly and time consuming.

  13. Add support for hosting the ConfigMgr DB on a Basic Availability Group (Always On)

Always On Basic Availability Groups provide a high availability solution for SQL Server 2016 and SQL Server 2017 Standard Edition. A basic availability group supports a failover environment for a single database. It is created and managed much like traditional (advanced) Always On Availability Groups (SQL Server) with Enterprise Edition.

ConfigMgr now requires read access to secondary replicas, which is only available in the Enterprise Edition of SQL Server.

  14. One, Single, graphical dashboard to monitor and manage WAN bandwidht usage by SCCM in complex environment

every SCCM admin in the world knows it generates a lot of traffic, especially if uptades and software deployment are not continuously tuned and properly configured. A centralized dashboard to manage Bandwidht usage between site servers, between clients and servers and to apply QoS and traffic shaping policies would be a great improvement in a complex environment.

  15. Add custom Tables in Datawarehouse sync process

Would be great if customers can add (through UI) other tables in datawarehouse synchronization process. So that they can consume data from datawarehouse DataBase.

  16. Migration: View only objects that have not been migrated

When running the migration wizard to migrate SCCM 2012 to SCCM CB (1710) I would like there to be an option in the 'select objects to migrate screen' to 'show only non-migrated objects' so you can easily find objects which have not been migrated yet.

This is useful to find objects that may have failed a previous migration and you want to re-run them.

  17. Improve Single Primary Configuration Manager Update Process

When upgrading SCCM to the latest current branch, it takes an extra 40 minutes unnecessarily for the SMS_REPLICATION_CONFIGURATION_MONITOR component to install that is not used\installed and then does not install.

If you run a Primary Site with a Single database the SMS_REPLICATION_CONFIGURATION_MONITOR is not used.

The cmupdate, log file shows for 40 minutes:

Failed to open registry key SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\COMPONENTS\SMS_EXECUTIVE\Threads\SMS_REPLICATION_CONFIGURATION_MONITOR (0), sleeping for 60

Failed to open registry key SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\COMPONENTS\SMS_EXECUTIVE\Threads\SMS_REPLICATION_CONFIGURATION_MONITOR (0), sleeping for 60

    and then after 40 mins:

WaitForRegistryNotification timed out trying to register registry notification SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\COMPONENTS\SMS_EXECUTIVE\Threads\SMS_REPLICATION_CONFIGURATION_MONITOR

Monitoring job timed out waiting for thread component SMS_REPLICATION_CONFIGURATION_MONITOR to be running.

    This happensā€¦

  18. General speed of SCCM Console and Client

Over any new feature, I'd love SCCM to just be faster in general. Just creating deployments and testing deployments is a notoriously slow process, even for a small 200 user organisation like ours.

First of all, the console itself is sluggish. There's a measurable delay accompanying almost every click. I'm not sure where the bottleneck is, but I'm suspecting it's the server-side architecture. It's bearable, but still frustrating when you're trying to get something done quickly. Replacing the clunky console with a snappier web interface (overdue in my opinion) would likely help, along with some architectural improvement in the background.

  19. Synchronize additional tables with the Data Warehouse Service point

In the 1612 technical preview, the Data Warehouse Service point was introduced, and at that time it included the ability to specify additional tables for synchronization. This capability is outlined in the release notes (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/get-started/capabilities-in-technical-preview-1612).

The latest release of ConfigMgr (1710 as of this posting) does not include this capability.

Re-introducing this capability would expand the use cases for the Data Warehouse Service point. Many customers have custom hardware inventory classes that are not included by default with the existing feature. There are also native tables, such as task sequence execution status, that would be helpful for trendā€¦

  20. Improved Auditing to Status Message when modifiying Status Message Filter Rules

Currently when disabling/modifying the Auditing Status Message filter rules such as "Write audit messages to the site database and specify the period after which the user can delete the messages.", a very generic message is posted to the Status Message log which is the exact same message for any change to any of the Status Message Filter Rules.

It would be more useful, especially "Audit" related filter rule changes, that the specific filter rule changed is specified in the status message, and a not just a generic message.

This will help better in monitoring a auditing hole where, in theory,ā€¦
