      • Automatic CCM Cache Cleanup

If MS Config Manager Product team can include a new feature of automatically deleting patches and packages from CCM cache folder, after it is being used / after installation it would save a lot of space and we don't need to push a separate script to clear the cache.

        • Add TFPBlockSize and TFTPWindowsSize to the DP configuration page in the Admin Console

It would great to be able to configure TFTPBlocksize and TFTPWindowsSize on PXE-enabled DPs from the Configuraiton Manager console, and not having to edit the registry or to use Configuration Item/Baseline to do this. An option on the PXE tab in the Distribution Point properties please?!

          • PkgXfer.log gives error "Fail to get volume information of drive M:\: " in 1606 SCCM

PkgXfer.log gives error "Fail to get volume information of drive M:\: " in 1606 SCCM
It keeps on checking all other drives except C Drive and the one with SCCMContentLib on a remote DP. Placing no_sms_on_drive.sms does not help. This is not affecting DP Function, just keeps the PkgXfer.log red.

            • The hash value is not correct - Please retry to download before failing

I Think you all have seen the error "The hash value is not correct" in the logs. The issue can be many things but from time to time this is related to a network issue happened during the TS runtime when the application/package/os image was downloaded. The way that the TS handle this is by breaking the TS.. I want a logic that will retry the download X number of time Before breaking the TS..

              • Add option for setting BITS client setting based on current IP address

Add an option for setting BITS client settings based on the current IP address of the client. We have a number of users with laptops that roam between the home office (LAN), remote offices (low bandwidth WAN), and VPN. Right now we have to configure the laptop client setting for the lowest common denominator for bandwidth usage (WAN). Would like to be able to have the BITS setting change based on the current IP address of the client.

                • Adding Source File aka Reparse Point support for ConfigMgr Current Branch

Currently in Configuration Manager 2012 R2 and Configuration Manager Current Branch releases Windows Server 2012 Drive De-Dupe functionality is only supported with Configuration Manager for drives that house ContentLibs and cannot be used for source shares do to the Reparse Point not being supported.

                  Reference Articles:
                  2012 R2: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2014/02/18/configuration-manager-distribution-points-and-windows-server-2012-data-deduplication/

                  Current Branch:
                  https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt617255.aspx

                  Drive De-Dupe:
                  https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/filecab/2012/05/20/introduction-to-data-deduplication-in-windows-server-2012/

This request is for the code change to add the functionality to Configuration Manager to allow for source files to be located on drives with De-duping enabled so that Reparsing Points are supported.

                  • User friendly progress tracking when distributing content to distribution points.

User friendly progress tracking when distributing content to distribution points. At the moment when asked how long it will take to have content available one needs to track the logs and guess a time frame. If it would be possible to have a progress tracker i.e. speed at which the content is copying, queue tracking, and eta.

                      • Enable HTTP content locations for source files

Enable the use of HTTP and HTTPS locations as source locations for content. With the increaseing use of GitHub and binary repositories like Artifactory the ability to use HTTP locations as content locations for applications and packages would be greatly helpful in managing and distributing the a content in an efficient manner within SCCM.

                          • Allow monitoring of active content distriubtion activity via the console

You should be able to monitor the active content distribution threads of content distribution. If a distribution point is offline for a extend period of time or has crashed or failed. Currently if defaults are in place, and if distribution manager is actively attempting to transfer content to that dp. It will take a extended period of time for distribution manager to give up attempting content distribution to that DP server. You should be able to intervene and stop the treads and allow it to replicate content to health Dp;s via the console.

                            • Ability to quantify download duration for content at the client

ConfigMgr 2007 had status messages 10023 and 10024 to provide when a package download started and completed. Those messages were removed in ConfigMgr 2012.

Issue is also posted as bug on Connect under FeedbackID=869536

Now requesting as DCR to either add these messages back or some other way to meet the requested requirement.

                              • Improve peer caching performance during task sequence

When downloading task sequence policies and resolving package download locations during a peer cache request, only download the content which is actually needed during the PE phase of the task sequence. Currently it downloads peer cache locations for all packages associated with the task sequence, even though it doesn't use it all since it only works in PE. This adds significant time to resolve task sequence policy during this step.

                                • Feature Request: Introduce a 'Remediate' option for Package/DPs for remediating package failures.

When a package fails to distribute to a DP, the only option right now is to 'Redistribute' the package to the DP. This is inefficient for large packages since 'Redistribute' transfers all package content to the DP even if some content may have already been transferred prior to the failure. For large packages, this not only takes a lot of time but consumes more network bandwidth than necessary.

When a package is 'added' to the DP, only the missing files are copied to the DP however there is no way to simulate an 'add' action from the UI.

                                  • update content source paths from the console

instead of relying on thirdparty utilities or a collection of scripts, wouldn't it be nice to have a possibility during migration to change content source paths directly to the new location (if the location has changed)

there are many scripts around that do this for packages, applications, driver source and driver pkg path, os image sourcepaths and I know people that do it in sql also
but hey why not have this as a possibility in the migration, this would make the live of many sccm admins much easier.

                                    • Deduplication support for content source

Windows Server 2012 R2 data deduplication is currently only for the content library on distribution points but not on the content source itself (https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/configmgrteam/2014/02/18/configuration-manager-distribution-points-and-windows-server-2012-data-deduplication/). It would be nice to have deduplication support also on the content source. This might depend on the content source structure, but in the environments I'm working with, I have always different versions of application sources with only slightly different configuration files or just additional patch files.

                                      • Allow the admins to select (and ignore the current) the actual order of providers from which SCCM grabs the IP address for Content Location

The idea would be to have a setting (maybe Custom Client settings is a good place) where we can specify a specific order of priorities for network adapters from which SCCM takes the ipv4 address for content distribution and site assignment.

For example, we currently have the following settings in the network adapter configuration
                                        1- wireless
                                        2- LAN
                                        3- Remote Access connections

For VPN clients this is a big issue if we have a boundary which conflicts with one of the internal ones, like 192.168.x.x since they'll use the local IP as a top priority instead of the VPN one.

                                        • Let Pull Distribution Point really work like Clients or Branch DP in ConfigMgr 2007

Pull Distribution Point require a Site server to initiate a TCP connection to them before they receive a push-notification to start downloading content from a source. Which means that firewall/network wise that it's more difficult to manage in high secure environments.
And after all: it doesn't make sense why client do initiate and use a seperate communication (Client Notification) channel using pull-mechanism and the pull-DP itself doesnt...

So, please let Pull-DP themselves initiate and setup the "Client Notification" or communication channel for push-notifications from the site server, just like the Clients do and old Branch DP did.
