  1. Seperate repoistory & ccmcache directory on client

    If OS supports Dedup.
Enable this feature as a pre-requisite to client installation.
Create a vhdx (mounted as the ccmcache folder.
Create 2 primary folders in this vhdx (repository & cache)
set the repository folder as the cmcache folder for downloads.
subfolder should be named by the guid of the application in console.. not a random folder.. with ".x" designation for the content version.

When applications are executed from ccmcache.. copy those folder contents to a cache matching folder.. and execute from there..

This will prevent hash mismatch when peer sharing files.

enable Deduplication on the vhdx file.. and you…

  2. AI-supported, predictive content locations (Super Peers, DPs, Cloud DPs)

Planning your content distribution in ConfigMgr is usually a one-time thing but over time - especially in large environments - optimization of said distribution infrastructure tends to become a "when we have time for it" job while the network topology can change drastically; sometimes without ConfigMgr admins knowing about it. Proper boundaries, branchcache, delivery optimization, pull-DPs etc. already provide great tools for us to optimize this but some questions remain and are currently not answered within ConfigMgr itself:
    - which clients could become viable peer cache clients?
    - which DPs should act as pull-DPs and from which DP should they…

  3. LEDBAT: Enable on Primary Site Servers and SUPS

The existing LEDBAT integration only supports DPs serving clients (or Pull-DPs). LEDBAT would also be usefull in other scenarios:

Distribution Manager's push of content down to 'normal' DPs.
    SUP's WSUS distribution of metadata.

Both use cases can occasionally/unexpectedly consume more bandwidth than desired so lowering the bar to using LEDBAT would be awesome.

  4. peer cache without pre-defined supper peer.

I thing we have to remove the concept of supeer peer from peer cache.

to do this we have to think like 1E nomad, I think as soon as any client download the content from distribution point it will report to management point that this machine is supper peer for this specific content. then further this machine can share content further to other machine within the subnet and the boundary group.

to control the multiple request towards the distribution point, we have to make some configuration that when any other client comes to the management point from the same subnet…

  5. Pull Distribution Points do not recover from BITS Errors -2147024893 "The system cannot find the path specified."

Pull Distribution points will get into a state where they can no longer download a specific file for a software update package when source version changes. As a result, BITS put many jobs in an error state as such....

  6. Show Percentage in Content Status - View Status

When viewing content distribution status for a large package I can hover over the asset detail description and see X% of the sending has already completed, it would be nice to have this near the pie chart, or somewhere more visible

  7. Driver Content De-Duplication on Package Source & Content Library

Today, we all spend a lot of time and efforts managing the drivers. I believe it is (Almost perfect)ConfigMgr's biggest area of improvement as of today. There should be some kind of automation provided in the way the drivers are downloaded, stored, imported, de-duplicated & decommissioned. Like Software Updates. Now, there are a few community solutions which do a great job of automating lots of stuff but the challenge of minimizing driver footprint on storage & DB still remains.

  8. auto clean expire updates from sccm cache

We have a setting to expire Superseded updates after X days. Clients need auto remove cache files that are expired? Patches, Defender def cleanup. When they update policy and software update scan, the machine knows the update is expired, it cannot install, clean this from the SCCM Cache,

  9. Separate content within the application model

Right now, the application is definitely decent and getting better. A major improvement over some other products within the same space. I do however, think that content assignment should be waaaaay better with this simple change.

Applications have Deployment Types, and DeploymentTypes may or may not have content associated with them. If you create two Deployment Types that share the same content, it is confusing because the content appears as if it is separate (Based on the Content ID), although it is the same (Because of the way SCCM handles content > Single Instance File Storage)

    I think it should…

  10. Configmgr community access for non-Internet connected systems

I manage systems that cannot be connected to the Internet. I would like to have a way to view and download Configmgr Community resources from a Internet connected system and transfer it to the non-Internet connected system.

  11. Content Status in Peer Cache Sources

We need to see which content is in cache of peer cache source computers. It is possible with SQL query, but there is no builtin screen/menu in console for that. It will ease the management of peer cache source computers in boundary groups without DP

It can be like 'Content Status' menu for only for Peer Cache Source Computers.

  12. Bind MP & DP to boundary

Make it optional wether a client should use normal logic to identify MP and DP or hardcode which site system(s) to use.

    Boundary A : normal behavior
    Boundary B : MP = Server1 DP=Server3

  13. FileReplication using Cloud DP

MPLS/ P2P lines usually have less bandwidth then WAN lines.
it will be great benefit to add option for Primary site/ CAS to update Cloud DP, and configure other DP to pull the data from the Cloud DP instead of replication over MPLS lines.

  14. DP Priority via GUI

Please make the Priority setting on DPs a configurable setting via the UI.

Our DPs follow a different naming convention based on their location. If we update a package it adds the DPs to the queue in alphabetical order. Some DP’s are more important than others but they are added last only because of the name.

  16. Content Version Rollback - Rollback Package Contents to Previous Version

From time to time, we need to rollback Content to a previous version. This is all done manually, and actually bumps the Content Version and forces us to redistribute the content to both DPs & Clients. When we have to do this with large packages (Upgrade Media), it causes a lot of extra network traffic.

I'd like the ability to Rollback from version N to N-1, literally have the content version go from 6 to 5.

Challenges: This would mean you'd have to keep N-1 of the Content on the DPs (Dedup would make this almost a non-issue)

    Pros: Currently…

  17. Package (compress) content before send to client

A lot of applications use hundreds, maybe thousands of files (e.g. Paint shop pro, oracle client, Autocad) of just a few KB / MB.

For those applications sometimes you have to wait a long time before the application package is transfered to the client.

Becouse of those large number of small files, there is not a large TCP window size, therefore the transfer could take longer than necessary.

i would like to see a feature that packages on a DP are "packaged" (zip, rar or whatsoever) in larger blocks (e.g. 100MB split files) before any client will received it

  18. SCCM: Allow SCCM to ignore files or folders, especially .git?

I'd like to be able to tell SCCM to ignore a .git folder in the content folder for a specific (or all) application. This would allow our group to use Git to manage changes to our application installers but not have SCCM pick up the Git database files, etc.

  20. AD Forest Discovery: More information for subnets

When doing an AD Forest Sync with subnet import enabled. Could SCCM also import the subnet location and description attributes so when looking at boundaries in the console we have more detailed information?
