  1. Create Boundary section won’t provide multi-domain Active Directory Sites

In a multi-domain infrastructure the browse of Active Directory Sites must be able to scan multiple domains and accept equals AD Site names.

  2. Cloud DP Preference

Allow administrators to set preference in environments with multiple Cloud DPs based on Client Settings as opposed to being non-deterministic. This would increase Cloud DP adoption in distributed environments and allow for additional Cloud DP instances in multiple Azure regions.

  4. Fix the bug where SCCM does not "Disconnect users from distribution points"

We frequently use SCCM to deploy folders and files that don't need constant synchronization with the source.
We make these files available for manual execution from the shared folder as well as creating programs in that package that we can then push to clients.
There is a bug that keeps SCCM from disconnecting users from any open files in that folder. When this happens, SCCM starts deleting files in the shared folder but can not close the open file, so it just stops - leaving the folder with only some of its contents. To work around this bug and other…

  5. Mobile Distribution Point

It would be helpful to have a "mobile" DP. This would be especially useful in an small branch office (without a DP), slow internet connection OSD scenario. Content could be distributed to the DP, taken offline and taken online at the branch office. It would be perfect if the clients could choose the mobile DP as the content source without manual pre-configuration.

  6. Allow a "Redistribute" action directly from the Distribution Point Configuration Status workspace

When monitoring a DP that has multiple package failures, you have to go to the DP>Content Tab and search for the failed packages individually, or go to the package and Right click>Redistribute on each DP. When you see 10 failed packages when looking at the DP at \Monitoring\Overview\Distribution Status\Distribution Point Configuration Status, a "Redistribute" action right there in the message view would be awesome!!

  7. Allow distribution points to be installed on server core

To reduce the attack fingerprint of servers it would be good if you could deploy a distribution point on server core.

  8. IP subnet boundary improvement

Improve the way IP subnet boundaries work. A client in 10.10.10.0/24 network should be considered inside a boundary of 10.0.0.0/8.

  9. Add bandwidth controls for content library between Primary and Secondary Sites

It would be good to have bandwidth controls on the packages being transferred from the primary to secondary site content library similar to transferring to DPs.

  10. Prevent the SCCM client from using hyper-v IP addresses

If you install Hyper-V on Windows 10, it will create a default adapter and randomly create an IP address, usually in the 172.x.x.x subnet. If by chance, you have a boundary that this random IP address falls into, the SCCM client will think it is part of this boundary, in addition to the boundary associated with it's physical NIC. The client considers both boundaries to be a Current boundary group and will therefore potentially download content from DP's associated within either boundary. In most situations, this additional DP will likely be across a WAN link which of course can cause…

  11. Cloud DP certificate expiration should be more discoverable

I had a situation where the DP certificate in the cloud had expired and stopped communicating. I would like to suggest if it would be possible to create an alert for this in Overview -> Alerts -> Subscriptions an option to create an alert by email informing the certificates that will expire within 30 days. Or even another way to see this, because in this case the client does not have SCOM in the environment. only the SCCM.
    Thanks for listening

  12. Delivery Optimization Boundary Groups

When working with Delivery Optimization (DO), today DO can't tell the difference between a site assignment Boundary Group (BG) and a content BG. Can DO be setup to have some kind of logic around site assignment and content BGs?

  13. Checkbox on deployment whether to allow download over CMG

Create a checkbox on the content locations tab of a deployment that dictates whether or not clients should use the cmg ti download content.

  14. Peer cache property, whether the software should be provided in the peer

Various applications are experience very large (<20gb).
The content I would like to have but not permanently in the ccmcache, otherwise I run the hard disks full.
Therefore I delete the content from the ccmcache directory after installation.

The peer cache feature offers every package or application in peer by default.
An application property (Deployment Types / Content / Specify the content location ...), whether the software should be provided in the peer, would be helpful.

  15. Software Center: Show more details regarding package information

Users are regularly informed via a pop-up that new software is available. If you then open the Software Center, you will see countless entries with status Installed or Available. However, it is not recognizable for the user whether a program listed is suitable for him, whether it represents a new version of a software already used by him or should not even be installed.
It would be better to let the user know which new software is a new version of an already installed one and, moreover, what features this new software provides. Thus, a distinction for the user would…

  16. pull distribution source

I would suggest one pull distribution poin to pull content from more than one source DP at the same time.

  17. content distribution settings groups

Like many things in SCCM you can create groups/collections to manage settings for several objects at once.

It would be useful to be able to create 'content distribution settings groups' that would allow you to specify the distribution settings for a group of applications.

For example, being able to group together applications/packages that run in a task sequence and using the group to set distribution settings to 'High' to ensure content is distributed quicker.

Or being able to group Update Deployment Packages together.

By default everything could be added to a 'default' group with 'Medium' settings.

  18. Include a "Differential Size (KB)" and "Incremental Version Number" as optional Column Choices

"Configuration Manager supports up to five incremental versions of a content set before it resends the entire content set"

    Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/plan-design/hierarchy/fundamental-concepts-for-content-management

"Incremental Version Number" would keep track of how many incremental versions (0=Full through 4=4th Incremental) of a package have occurred prior to every 5th content distribution which is when the next entire data sync will occur.

"Differential Size (KB)" to store the Result of the 'Binary Differential Replication' calculations of 'Source Version X' vs 'Source Version Y'

These two values would be extremely helpful in calculating future bandwidth requirements as well as calculating approximate content distribution times in Low…

  19. Elaborated Bandwidth Throttling

Currently, we can configure 'time-based' bandwidth throttling, which means we can restrict content transfer for a particular time period and that will be applicable for all days (same). What if, I want to configure different throttling setting for weekends (or may be some other days), during which, there is less load on network and I can loosen up the restriction.

  20. When Deleting packages from SCCM Console it leaves the empty custom folder in the DP and only Delete the content of the folder.

Custom folder created during package creation should also get deleted from DP when the package is being deleted.
As of now whenever a package is deleted from console it deletes the content of the folder but leaves the empty folder itself.
These empty folder has to be manually identified and then cleared from the DPs.
This process of identifying and deleting empty folders is cumbersome specially when having large number of DPs and requires special attention while doing in order to avoid removing any of the working folders mistakenly.
