  1. Prevent the SCCM client from using hyper-v IP addresses

If you install Hyper-V on Windows 10, it will create a default adapter and randomly create an IP address, usually in the 172.x.x.x subnet. If by chance, you have a boundary that this random IP address falls into, the SCCM client will think it is part of this boundary, in addition to the boundary associated with it's physical NIC. The client considers both boundaries to be a Current boundary group and will therefore potentially download content from DP's associated within either boundary. In most situations, this additional DP will likely be across a WAN link which of course can causeā€¦

  2. IP subnet boundary improvement

Improve the way IP subnet boundaries work. A client in 10.10.10.0/24 network should be considered inside a boundary of 10.0.0.0/8.

  3. Prestaged content locally on computer

    Hello,

It will be great if we can prestaged content without operating system, and paste this content on computer. When we start the task sequence, sccm look if content are on the computer like : "C:\PrestagedContent".

If content are there, he will install app with this content and not download from DP. If app have new revision, sccm will download new revision from DP. if content is not here, he will download content from is DP

It will be a solution for task sequence which need network (device variable, etc), poor network (site on Africa for example) and task sequenceā€¦

  4. Cascading distributions

Set up distributions of content that hit one DP Group, then another automatically and so on.

  6. Add bandwidth controls for content library between Primary and Secondary Sites

It would be good to have bandwidth controls on the packages being transferred from the primary to secondary site content library similar to transferring to DPs.

  7. Change how reboot settings are configured

Reboot configurations are set per-client. I would like the ability to do this per-deployment. It can currently be done through creative collections, but it's time-consuming to maintain. Just adding a couple of fields to the deployment table for reboot override behavior ought to do it.

  8. Package (compress) content before send to client

A lot of applications use hundreds, maybe thousands of files (e.g. Paint shop pro, oracle client, Autocad) of just a few KB / MB.

For those applications sometimes you have to wait a long time before the application package is transfered to the client.

Becouse of those large number of small files, there is not a large TCP window size, therefore the transfer could take longer than necessary.

i would like to see a feature that packages on a DP are "packaged" (zip, rar or whatsoever) in larger blocks (e.g. 100MB split files) before any client will received it

  9. Content Cleanup Tool Errors out on Nested Task Sequences

Allow the Content Cleanup Tool to ignore issues such as Nested Task Sequences. Currently it is a known issue that Nest Task Sequences cause this error "This content library cannot be cleaned up right now because package *** is not fully installedā€"

  10. Provide the ability to refresh site server content

DP's occasionally fail to get content because it has not got to the site server. Updating or redistributing does not fix this situation. The ability to refresh site content would be helpful. See https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/312d86e3-e793-4147-97a7-7785295e4986/problem-with-stuck-distribution-points?forum=configmgrgeneral for a work around which is messy.

  12. Content Locations management

Content Locations tab in a package properties allows to Validate, Redistribute and Remove a Distribution point. If you need to add a new Distribution point, it should be done via Distribute Content option of the package.

It would be great to have option to add new Distribution point on the same Content Locations tab.

  13. Add some features to the option "Clear PXE"

    In the right click menu:
    _Clear Required PXE Deployment
    _Undo "Clear Required PXE Deployment"

    In the Security Roles
_Allow/ Disallow: Clear PXE Flag for Clients
_Allow/ Disallow (Hide): Clear PXE Flag for the entire Collection

  14. Make Binary Differential Replication work with Pull DP

Would be nice if Pull DP supports the Binary Differential Replication, especially for software update packages... For us, we used pull PD where the network connectivity is better between the DP than the site system, but doing that we have to redistribute the WHOLE content of a packages when they are modified...

Also, it would be nice if Configuration Manager supports more than five incremental versions of a content set before it resends the entire content set, especially for Software updates. So maybe depending on the package type.

  15. More Options to configure Boundaries

Currently you can only configure Boundaries based on IP Addresses or AD-Sites.
However, in some situations it would be great to have more Options.
For example, if you manage Clients in multiple protected NAT Environments.
ItĀ“s possible that multiple sites/zones use the same IP Ranges, so you cannot configure Clients to use local DPs.
A possibility would be a Reg Key like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CCM:AllowedMPs, but for Boundary Groups.

  16. LEDBAT support for CMG/CloudDP

It would be nice to make the new LEDBAT DP functionality also available for CMGs or Cloud DPs.

  17. Branch Cache client download behavior

As far as we know, the branch cache client download behavior is as follows:

    1. New package with a required deployment is being sent to a location with its own subnet
    2. Clients which received the deployment will start downloading the related content
    3. As soon as at least one client completely downloaded all content of the deployment, the other clients in the same subnet will start using this (and subsequent) client(s) for content download, which will then cause no WAN consumption anymore

However, this typically still causes quite a lot of WAN bandwidth consumption: as long as the ā€œfirstā€ā€¦

  18. Remove Deleted Content from Client Cache

Today, when you remove an object from ConfigMgr (Package, application, etc), the content remains in the local client cache (if it was ever downloaded). In an effort to clean up that old content, I think it would be a great idea to automatically cleanup content. For example, once I delete an image from the admin console, I will never need it again on my client systems, so go ahead and delete it from any system that has it in the cache.

(I currently use TidyCache to remove 'old' cache', but would prefer that this be handled natively by ConfigMgr. https://gregramsey.net/2015/11/17/tidy-cache-clean-up-old-ccmcache/

  19. When removing a package from a ditribution point, remove it from the DP's single instance store as well

We've removed a 6GB .wim operating system image file from a distribution point to which we didn't intend to distribute it to. Although we've successfully removed it from the DP using the admin console, the file is still present on the DP in the single instance store, and thus 6GB of disk space appears to be permanently wasted.
