  1. Add a prompt offering to delete the source directory when deleting anything with a content source directory

When cleaning up old applications, packages, driver packs and wim files. It would be nice to have the option for sccm to also delete the content source directory.

    • Content Removal/De-distribution

To be able to select more than 1 distribution point or distribution point group when removing content locations for packages or applications.

To be able to multiple selection locations before removing, rather than having to remove individually

      • Allow a "Redistribute" action directly from the Distribution Point Configuration Status workspace

When monitoring a DP that has multiple package failures, you have to go to the DP>Content Tab and search for the failed packages individually, or go to the package and Right click>Redistribute on each DP. When you see 10 failed packages when looking at the DP at \Monitoring\Overview\Distribution Status\Distribution Point Configuration Status, a "Redistribute" action right there in the message view would be awesome!!

        • PkgXfer.log gives error "Fail to get volume information of drive M:\: " in 1606 SCCM

PkgXfer.log gives error "Fail to get volume information of drive M:\: " in 1606 SCCM
It keeps on checking all other drives except C Drive and the one with SCCMContentLib on a remote DP. Placing no_sms_on_drive.sms does not help. This is not affecting DP Function, just keeps the PkgXfer.log red.

          • Provide the ability to set the number of PullDP that can download at the same time.

By providing this settings, it would ease up massive distribution of a package to many PullDP.
A setting similar to Concurent download on DP would be perfect!

As of now, updating a package hosted on 1000 PullDP will trigger all PullDP at the same time to update the package.
This cause high CPU and IO on the server as well as potential network load.

            • The hash value is not correct - Please retry to download before failing

I Think you all have seen the error "The hash value is not correct" in the logs. The issue can be many things but from time to time this is related to a network issue happened during the TS runtime when the application/package/os image was downloaded. The way that the TS handle this is by breaking the TS.. I want a logic that will retry the download X number of time Before breaking the TS..

              • Mobile Distribution Point

It would be helpful to have a "mobile" DP. This would be especially useful in an small branch office (without a DP), slow internet connection OSD scenario. Content could be distributed to the DP, taken offline and taken online at the branch office. It would be perfect if the clients could choose the mobile DP as the content source without manual pre-configuration.

                • Bind network access account with a boundary group

With the 1610 update to the boundary groups it seem to be easier to control the content location for a client.
Why not make it even better and move the network access account configuration to the boundary group configuration, or make it possible to bind a network access account with a boundary group.
In this way we can define exactly what network access account that should be used accessing content.

                  • Fix Distribution Point usage reporting, smsdpusage, so that it honours the preferred Management Points defined in Boundary Groups.

Currently the smsdpusage process does not honour the DPs preferred Management Points for the submission of the usage report. Instead, it appears to pick the last MP listed in the following registry location, HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\DP\ManagementPoints. In some cases this MP may not be reachable and as a result no DP usage reports are submitted to SCCM.

                    • More information about drivers in both console and database, especially unused drivers, usage count and last usage date

There is no usage information about drivers both in console and database. In smsts.log file, we can track which drivers are downloaded and installed (with management point links and file infos). But, there is no information about usage ratio of the drivers. So, there are many unused drivers in out database and growing day by day.

There should be a table in database which shows the usage info, installed date, last installed date and copatibility about computer models.
Also, in console, in driver tab, there should be a column which shows the usage count and last usage date.

                      • Cloud DP Preference

Allow administrators to set preference in environments with multiple Cloud DPs based on Client Settings as opposed to being non-deterministic. This would increase Cloud DP adoption in distributed environments and allow for additional Cloud DP instances in multiple Azure regions.

                        • The ability to schedule content distribution

So as to minimize business impact during critical hours of the day where WAN impact can have significant outcomes. By being able to schedule when content distribution will start can greatly assist in this regard

                          • Removing entries from Peer Cache

                            As per the discussion here:
                            https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/plan-design/hierarchy/client-peer-cache
When deleting a client from ConfigMgr the associated peer cache entries are not removed. It is my opinion that they should be...

I would like to see a configurable method such that content that hasn't been recently verified as available in a client's peer cache is not returned as an available location. ie. Remove the peer cache referrals for content that has not been verfied as available within the past week etc...

                            • Allow exclusions in ConfigMgr content folders

When selecting a content location it would be nice to be able to add a list of folders (and possibly files) to exclude from the content. e.g. we often include an installation wrapper script in the content that drives the installation or removal process for applications / packages it would be nice to include them in a small git repository in situ. While we can do this now ConfigMgr copies the repo as part of the content. It would be nice to be able to exclude it from content replication / delivery / caching.

                              • Distribution points in Hierarchy view

Make it so that distribution points are visible in the Hierarchy View and not only primary/secondary sites. An while we are at it have a view to see the package distribution status on each distribution point, example if there are 100 packages and 60 are distributed, 30 in progress an 10 failed then we would see the proper pie chart. and clicking on the section of the pie chart would give us the view of that section. Would be great for updates as well, being able to see which computers need which updates

                                • STOP accidental deployment or content transfer

The bigger question is Can SCCM Admins undo accidental deployments? Do they have any out of box controls in SCCM to STOP the deployment they initiated by mistakenly?. SCCM is still missing that big RED button to stop all the initiated deployments. SCCM / ConfigMgr doesn’t have any mechanism to stop the package replication or traffic over the WAN immediately.

                                  • update content source paths from the console

instead of relying on thirdparty utilities or a collection of scripts, wouldn't it be nice to have a possibility during migration to change content source paths directly to the new location (if the location has changed)

there are many scripts around that do this for packages, applications, driver source and driver pkg path, os image sourcepaths and I know people that do it in sql also
but hey why not have this as a possibility in the migration, this would make the live of many sccm admins much easier.

                                    • Improve peer caching performance during task sequence

When downloading task sequence policies and resolving package download locations during a peer cache request, only download the content which is actually needed during the PE phase of the task sequence. Currently it downloads peer cache locations for all packages associated with the task sequence, even though it doesn't use it all since it only works in PE. This adds significant time to resolve task sequence policy during this step.

                                      • Source DP prioritization during refresh content/MS package update over other DPs

During content refresh or MS SUP cleanup content update requests get sent to all pull/DPs. However, Source DPs do not have the content present and therefore the child DPs cause extra messaging stating content not present in DPs. request that Source DPs get priority when updating content prior to request being sent out to DP to download/update content

                                        • Implement content distribution rings

Existing: if a given content distributed to 2000 plus pull distribution points they may all start downloading at the same time.

Ask: implement content distribution rings for large enterprises that they can group their pull distribution points exactly like dp groups. Provide ability to prioritize and set compliance thresholds on these groups

                                          Example:

                                          DP group 1: 200 dps compliance: %90
                                          DP group 2: 200 dps compliance: %80
                                          DP group 3: 200 dps compliance: %80

If content is distributed to all 600 dps then config manager will send the notifications to first dp group and stop. It will monitor compliance based…
