  1. Delivery Optimization Boundary Groups

When working with Delivery Optimization (DO), today DO can't tell the difference between a site assignment Boundary Group (BG) and a content BG. Can DO be setup to have some kind of logic around site assignment and content BGs?

  2. Addition of Aritificial Intelliegence(AI) feature to SCCM client can be next big thing

If developers can add AI features to SCCM client, it can be next big thing in Configuration Manager.

I think with help of AI:
    1) SCCM client can understand nature of connectivity. If laptop is connected to public WiFi or home or customer network, IBCM client installed on that laptop connects to DMZ placed IBCM server only irrespective of whether laptop has VPN tunnel established to corporate network or it has successful DA connection etc.

    2) Can able to figure it out maximum reason of client health issue.

    3) Can able to figure out patch deployment installation failure issue.

  3. Peer cache property, whether the software should be provided in the peer

Various applications are experience very large (<20gb).
The content I would like to have but not permanently in the ccmcache, otherwise I run the hard disks full.
Therefore I delete the content from the ccmcache directory after installation.

The peer cache feature offers every package or application in peer by default.
An application property (Deployment Types / Content / Specify the content location ...), whether the software should be provided in the peer, would be helpful.

  4. Software Center: Show more details regarding package information

Users are regularly informed via a pop-up that new software is available. If you then open the Software Center, you will see countless entries with status Installed or Available. However, it is not recognizable for the user whether a program listed is suitable for him, whether it represents a new version of a software already used by him or should not even be installed.
It would be better to let the user know which new software is a new version of an already installed one and, moreover, what features this new software provides. Thus, a distinction for the user wouldā€¦

  5. pull distribution source

I would suggest one pull distribution poin to pull content from more than one source DP at the same time.

  6. content distribution settings groups

Like many things in SCCM you can create groups/collections to manage settings for several objects at once.

It would be useful to be able to create 'content distribution settings groups' that would allow you to specify the distribution settings for a group of applications.

For example, being able to group together applications/packages that run in a task sequence and using the group to set distribution settings to 'High' to ensure content is distributed quicker.

Or being able to group Update Deployment Packages together.

By default everything could be added to a 'default' group with 'Medium' settings.

  7. Elaborated Bandwidth Throttling

Currently, we can configure 'time-based' bandwidth throttling, which means we can restrict content transfer for a particular time period and that will be applicable for all days (same). What if, I want to configure different throttling setting for weekends (or may be some other days), during which, there is less load on network and I can loosen up the restriction.

  8. More Options to configure Boundaries

Currently you can only configure Boundaries based on IP Addresses or AD-Sites.
However, in some situations it would be great to have more Options.
For example, if you manage Clients in multiple protected NAT Environments.
ItĀ“s possible that multiple sites/zones use the same IP Ranges, so you cannot configure Clients to use local DPs.
A possibility would be a Reg Key like HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CCM:AllowedMPs, but for Boundary Groups.

  9. Fix problem with Peer Cache only working via HTTPS since CB 1710

We noticed 2 things making it impossible for us to use Peer Cache:
In CB 1702, we noticed that clients contacting the Peer Cache Source only attempt this via HTTPS.
This doesn't make sense, especially because we (and most of the other customers we know) use HTTP for the entire SCCM infrastructure.
Furthermore, in the client settings the option to switch from HTTPS to HTTP was obviously forgotten - it's missing.

Is the PG aware of this, and can we expect the issues will be fixed in CB 1802?

  11. Change Default Content Distribution Priority

Please create a setting (perhaps hierarchy or site) that allows an administrator to define the default content priority by content type. The current system default of Medium is not always appropriate and making this configurable could be a big help. The setting for this is already contained in WMI for most content types so creating a configurable setting in the console should be relatively trivial.

  12. update distribution point on a schedule

when we want to schedule an update for a package, if you enter a previous date than the current one (due to an error) you don't receive an advertisement message telling you that date is anterior. If you click OK, then package is update immediately!

    Thank you

  13. Allow exclusions in ConfigMgr content folders

When selecting a content location it would be nice to be able to add a list of folders (and possibly files) to exclude from the content. e.g. we often include an installation wrapper script in the content that drives the installation or removal process for applications / packages it would be nice to include them in a small git repository in situ. While we can do this now ConfigMgr copies the repo as part of the content. It would be nice to be able to exclude it from content replication / delivery / caching.

  14. LiveFlow of DP to Network

Currently there is no centralized way within ConfigMgr to determine if the expected desire of boundaries for content / site assignment works as expected. As boundaries can be configured in multiple ways (subnet, ad, range etc) and also allows to fallback between different servers - it would be good to allow insight into what clients from what networks are connecting to a DP to retrieve content. This would allow if the current design works as expected.

    Information that would be useful for on-prem DP;
    1. Devices (COUNT?) connecting from network (initial octets/subnet-mask)
    2. Connectivity type: local, remote, fallback etc...

  15. Peer Cache DNS Search Suffix

Allow administrators to configure Peer Cache clients with a list of DNS Search Suffixes, or for it to reference the local machines.

Currently I'm unable to use Peer Cache because client attempt to reach fellow clients via the FQDN which for xyz reason is unreachable. If it simply followed the DNS Search Suffix list, it would be able to contact them.

  16. Provide the ability to refresh site server content

DP's occasionally fail to get content because it has not got to the site server. Updating or redistributing does not fix this situation. The ability to refresh site content would be helpful. See https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/312d86e3-e793-4147-97a7-7785295e4986/problem-with-stuck-distribution-points?forum=configmgrgeneral for a work around which is messy.

  17. Retry mechanism when deleting packages

When a package is deleted from the console, the packages/apps are removed from the database. If for any reason a pull DP or DP is not available, or WMI has issues on those remotes site systems, the files on the remote SCCM content Lib are not removed. This creates orphaned files on the Content Lib and causes storage issues on the servers.
We are working with a customer that as a large number of PullDP's so we would like to suggest on the behalf of our customer, to have a retry mechanism in the console to delete the content fromā€¦

  18. STOP accidental deployment or content transfer

The bigger question is Can SCCM Admins undo accidental deployments? Do they have any out of box controls in SCCM to STOP the deployment they initiated by mistakenly?. SCCM is still missing that big RED button to stop all the initiated deployments. SCCM / ConfigMgr doesnā€™t have any mechanism to stop the package replication or traffic over the WAN immediately.

  19. Move inboxes

    inboxes\despoolr.box\receive
Get full depending on the size of the deployments.

Being able to move this to another drive so that the isntallation drive doesn't get filled up.

  20. Have PkgXferMgr set *all* jobs destined to a given Pull DP to retry after the configured interval on failure

Currently, if there are 100 jobs in DistributionJobs destined for a given Pull DP, and PkgXferMgr fails to connect to the DP for the first one, only that job is marked with a retry time 20 minutes (by default) in the future. We then move on to the next jobs, all destined for the same DP, and mark them individually for retry. In a very busy environment with lots of Pull DPs and jobs, having just 5 or 6 DPs that are offline, this looping prevents PkgXferMgr from scheduling most of the jobs that are destined to DPs that areā€¦
