  1. Be able to run several actions at once from Configuration Manager Client

I would like there to be a option to run several actions at once from the SCCM Client. A checkbox for each actions and then a 'Run' button that executes the actions one by one. Either in the order you checked the boxes or by alphabetical.

Improve on the communication windows when deploying TS, Applications or Packages. Warning the users about what will occuring before a deadline is reached. With all this MS updates for Office and Windows we need a stronger communication method

  3. UWF and WCD integration would be an amazing addition for the educational space

Unified Write Filter and Windows Configuration Designer profiles are both great tools, especially for customers in the education space. We often need to deploy many devices in a "Shared PC" configuration for classrooms, computer labs, etc. It would be amazing if these tools were integrated into SCCM to make deploying and managing them simpler.

  5. Give the possibility to migrate installed applications from one Machine to another like USMT with profiles

When a User gets a new Laptop he need to install all his software again. It would be great when it would be possible to collect the installed software who was installed via Software Center and redeploy them via the Variables in "Install Application" TS step

  6. Show Client Version in HELP-ABOUT from ConfigMgr console

While working with boot images, I need to click UPDATE DISTRIBUTION POINTS and see if the client within the boot image is the same as the client on the site server. It would be nice if I can see the current (latest) ConfigMgr agent shown in HELP-ABOUT from ConfigMgr console as a all-in-one screen so I would spare some time checking and updating the boot images

    Updating status to noted.

    Thanks for your feedback.

Not sure what I’m missing here…
The ‘About Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager’ shows ‘Site version:5.0.9012.1000’ – that’s an example from our 2006 release. The same is shown in the Boot Images view, the Client version column.

The update Distribution Points wizard shows the current ADK version, the current production client version and in the table below the reload option we show the OS version of the boot image and the version of the client binaries.

Could you let me what I’m missing? The information present in the wizard covers everything you’d need to know – in my opinion anyway.

    Thanks

  7. No more ccmdata.bak

Please, for the love of all that is holy, stop creating the ccmdata.bak file and storing guids in a directory that is **** near inaccessible on citrix machines, or at least give me an installation option to specify not to do this. I don't see any benefit to this at all, and you end up getting sccm inexperienced Citrix admins installing clients with duplicate guids even though you remove certs, ini files and other identifying information.

  8. Before a task sequence starts with a deadline, Policy should first be updated again.

Before a task sequence is executed, the client policy should first be updated again.

This is especially the case if the task sequence has a deadline.

Background information: A Task Sequence with a Deadline Is distributed to a notebook. The notebook gets this policy and knows when the deadline is. The notebook is not turned on after the deadline. In the meantime, the task sequence has been withdrawn (deleted) by an admin. The notebook does not notice this and starts to execute the task sequence at startup.

This should be unbound by first updating the policy so that this taskā€¦

  10. "Maintenance Windows" for Client Auto Upgrade feature

We often found that SCCM Client is not working because SCCM client was corrupt during client.msi installation was failed due to external OS shutdown. OS shutdown during upgrade may cause corrupt SCCM client but we cannot set "Maintenance Windows" for Client Auto Upgrade in current SCCM version and so it is difficult to avoid this situation. We want to add "Maintenance Windows" for Client Auto Upgrade.

  11. Have ccmeval fix a corrupt GPO cache file

With 8000+ workstations we regularly see a corrupt GPO cache file. This breaks the policy updates, including policies for SCCM (security) updates.
    Detection:
    - Event log
    - gpudate command fails with error
    Remediation:
    - Delete file c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy\machine\registry.pol
    - Run gpudate /force
    - Restart ccmexec service

  12. SCCM Clients to respect SCCM policies first instead of AD GPO for sitecode, WSUS

SCCM Client considers AD GPO first than SCCM policies as next for Sitecode, SUP Server name and this increasing dependancy on AD, lead to scenarion where client cant find right site, even if SCCM gives it correct, due to broken AD GPO or some settings, or in VPN user cases etc. Instead doesnt SCCM make this an option so either we can chose whether AD GPO or SCCM policies in settings in console... or change the order so SCCM policies are honoured first, than GPO later...This has been observed to give lot better compliancy in few clients of us, butā€¦

  13. Allow exclusions by Active Directory group for system discovery

Currently, you can exclude discovery of machines by OU. While great, some systems can not be organized easily into one or a few OUs.

Requesting a feature be added to allow the same functionality but exclude systems from system discovery that are in a specific Active Directory group.

  14. Allow maintenance windows to be targeted for ONLY client upgrades

Allow maintenance windows to be targeted for ONLY client upgrades. In 1810, you can target a MW at all deployments, software updates or task sequences. It would be nice to have an option for client upgrades as well. That way you don't have to shuffle groups and software updates advertisements around when its time to upgrade.

  15. Pre-Post Script to Client Install

Allow a custom script Before & After client installation.

    Example Uses:
    - Install Windows Dedup feature, create vhds, mount vhdx as folder, dedup vhdx, reference vhdx folder as sccmcache directory.
    - Force policy collection evaluation, delay x minutes, force policy refresh.

  16. Add option to exclude containers/OUs from Group Discovery

Hereā€™s the problem. Systems exist in the Domain Computers group and other groups, so any recursive discovery of groups for the domain will put the partial system discovery back in the system.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/servers/deploy/configure/configure-discovery-methods#bkmk_config-adsd
Starting in version 1806, select subcontainers (and/or OUs?) to exclude from this recursive search. This option helps to reduce the number of discovered objects. Select Add to choose the containers under the above path. In the Select New Container dialog box, select a child container to exclude. Select OK to close the Select New Container dialog box.

  18. Client deployment flexibility

Please add a feature to be able to auto install the agent by device type. ie, servers, workstations, thin clients. Currently this is an all or nothing type thing, it would be nice to make it more granular.

  19. Change Client Cache to work like DP SCCMContentLib folder

Some deployed Applications and/or Packages during their execution modify their working directory (a log file created, new files created/deleted, etc...)
When that happens, the Peer Cache feature fails because when other devices get a copy they immediately discard it since the copy is distinct from the one defined at the SCCM server. The error message "The hash value is not correct" is registered by the devices that downloaded the modified copy.

I think the SCCM Client Cache should work like the "SCCMContentLib" folder existing at the Distribution Points, creating a hashed, compressed file for every package file.

  20. use Reliability Monitor/SystemStabilityIndex in inventory, client health and cmpivot

System Reliability Monitor is the integrated Windows 10 Troubleshooting tool which is a filter to the eventlog, looking at performance and stability related information
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/technet-magazine/dd362384(v=msdn.10)
For example you can find out since you installed a driver or app the system gets unstable

this data should be used in #configmgr client health, inventory and cmpivot

There is an number, the SystemStabilityIndex

    get-wmiobject Win32_ReliabilityStabilityMetrics -property "SystemStabilityIndex" | select-object -first 1 SystemStabilityIndex

Based on that we could create collections of good and bad performing machines or query cmpivot
