I would be nice if in the Devices view there was an option to display the currently logged on user and the IP of the device so that I would not have to run a query all the time to get that information.

UserName and MachineName displayed in Collections
I'd like to be able to view UserName and MachineName as a column in Collections. If the user logs into multiple machines then have SCCM select the most recent date or the machine with the most minutes logged-in.

Easier access to collection query editing
It would be really nice if I could get to edit the query on a collection with just one click, rather than having make 7 clicks. Even if it was just available from the Right Click menu that would be a huge improvement.

Collection removes members after some time specified automatically
Clients stored in a (temporarily) collection by a direct rule remain there until someone takes care if this is still needed. In my case this is done for packages which fix some issues and need to run only once on each defined client. Yes, this can be done by compliance settings or a query but it is easier for support staff picking a client and place it into a collection that fixes something a user is complaining about in a service ticket.
So the wish is, that the collection clears (not deletes) itself after a specified time. You may have…

Blocking collection query is crashing SQL server
SCCM Version Number and CU level
SCCM 1610
Customer has SQL 2012 with SQL Compatibility mode 2012.Observed behavior:
The behavior is like this:
• We have a collection A (BCS026B0)that contains 80.000 objects (or 100.000). It is big.
• If we create a new collection B that is limited to A, once the update cycle for the collection B the SQL query will run with the ;WITH LimitedBaseTable as
• This will generate a blocking and will never end.
The above behavior is not always reproducible with all big collections. What we think would be useful is to add…

Changes only in case not understood while renaming collections
Minor bug and easy to work around, just thought I'd point it out:
Original collection name: "Foo Bar"
Action: Rename to "Foo BAR"
Expected result: "Foo BAR"
Actual result: "Foo Bar" (no change)Action: Rename to "Foo Bar Baz"
Action: Rename to "Foo BAR"
Actual result: "Foo BAR"Basically, if you rename a collection and change only the case, SCCM doesn't "get the memo" ;).

Override collection membership evaluation settings/remove collection membership evaluation settings from global data
Collections are part of global data. As such, all settings on collections are replicated from any Primary to the Central Administration Site and then down to the other Primaries again.
This includes the membership queries, the way collection membership is evaluated (incremental, full) and when this evaluation is scheduled. My customer's IT is arranged into different Business Division, each with a high autonomy on how to manage local workstations.
For reasons too long to explain, some of the business divisions need a high number of collections with incremental membership evaluation. They accept that their incremental evaluation cycle lasts +25 minutes…37 votes -
User/Device Collection Import Feature
I would like to see a feature in the Configuration Manager console, similar to downloading a template in Office apps, for User and Device Collections. Adding a way for the community to also share collections in this repository would be nice as well.

Join Collections
It would be useful to be able to create collections based on the common membership of two other collections, directly from the "Add Rule" button (see attached). This would effectively be an inner join of two or more collections. This option could simply be called "Join Collections".
Of course, this can be achieved using queries within the collection, however doing this at the collection level (instead of within a query) would allow us to create more complex collections much more quickly.
Overall this is a quick efficiency improvement.

Improve collection import to catch unmatched limit to collection ID
When importing a collection to another hierarchy the "limit to" collection ID never matches. Right now we have to manually edit the MOF file. Please improve the import wizard so that if the "limit to" collection ID is not found the user can select a new collection as part of the wizard.

Read collection query WQL for role "Read-only Analyst"
Ability to read collection query logic / statement in WQL when assigned to the Built-in role of "Read-only Analyst". I am a package developer but need to look at and provide advice to others on production and test environments. I have read-only access to everything I usually need except the logic in the collection queries.

DataGrid view for Value UI for Collections
When creating a Device or User collection and editing the Query Statement it would be extremely useful to have all the Values applicable for the query that you create to be listed in a DataGrid instead of what's I'm assuming today is a ListBox or similar. A DataGrid would improve the user experience with sortable columns for instance.
As for the amount of returned items, it would also make sense to be able to increase the amount by allowing the user to set the maximum limit themselves.

Maintenance window start date regression in 1606 - year 1970
We have a 5-minute, non-recurring maintenance window starting 1/1/1970 1:00 AM configured on several critical device collections to prevent reboots due to accidentally-configured deployments - and this worked as of SCCM 1511. In 1606 though, when I try to edit that maintenance window, I receive an un-handled ArgumentOutOfRangeException (Value should be between 'MinDate' and 'MaxDate').
Creating a new maintenance window starting 1/1/1971 1:00 AM (the UI won't even allow you to set 1970, it'll just flip it back to the previous value) and deleting the older one works, but this is certainly a bug. I don't know yet if other…

View Collection Dependencies
It would be really nice to be able to see a list of the collections that are limited to a specific collection with a tab on the properties of that collection.
