  1. Limiting Collection Notification

When a device is added to a collection but is not a member of the limiting collection(s), there should be a prompt that notifies the user of this and what collection(s) the device needs to be a member of first.

  2. Create an Collection Base on IOS Profile or Android Devices

actually all device enrolled come on all IOS device but is not manageable if we want to deploy App or Base rule on Different devices we need to Create manually an collection and add all the devices in this collection also manually who generate a lot of works.

if we have the possibility to create an collection and to be able to have all device registered who are assigned to ios Profile this collection will be populate automatically and that will also give our live more easy,

eg: if we create an ios Profile Kiosk IPad Sales or Profile Kioskā€¦

  3. I would be nice if in the Devices view there was an option to display the currently logged on user and the IP of the device

I would be nice if in the Devices view there was an option to display the currently logged on user and the IP of the device so that I would not have to run a query all the time to get that information.

  4. UserName and MachineName displayed in Collections

I'd like to be able to view UserName and MachineName as a column in Collections. If the user logs into multiple machines then have SCCM select the most recent date or the machine with the most minutes logged-in.

  5. When deploying a task sequence from a collection: Don't clear the chosen collection!

When right clicking a collection and choosing to deploy a task sequence to that collection, after the TS has been chosen the chosen collection is cleared.

When one have made a conscious effort of what collection to deploy to, trust that the operator have made the right choice!

Clearing the collection is a highly unwanted nanny state :(
You might as well remove the possibility to deploy TS's via collections then :(

  6. Direct membership rule

As like Direct membership rule in adding machine to the collection, it would be nice if we have any rule for excluding single machines from the collection.

  10. Easier access to collection query editing

It would be really nice if I could get to edit the query on a collection with just one click, rather than having make 7 clicks. Even if it was just available from the Right Click menu that would be a huge improvement.

  12. Collection removes members after some time specified automatically

Clients stored in a (temporarily) collection by a direct rule remain there until someone takes care if this is still needed. In my case this is done for packages which fix some issues and need to run only once on each defined client. Yes, this can be done by compliance settings or a query but it is easier for support staff picking a client and place it into a collection that fixes something a user is complaining about in a service ticket.
So the wish is, that the collection clears (not deletes) itself after a specified time.

    You may haveā€¦

  13. Blocking collection query is crashing SQL server

SCCM Version Number and CU level
    SCCM 1610
Customer has SQL 2012 with SQL Compatibility mode 2012.

    Observed behavior:

    The behavior is like this:

ā€¢ We have a collection A (BCS026B0)that contains 80.000 objects (or 100.000). It is big.
ā€¢ If we create a new collection B that is limited to A, once the update cycle for the collection B the SQL query will run with the ;WITH LimitedBaseTable as
ā€¢ This will generate a blocking and will never end.
The above behavior is not always reproducible with all big collections.

What we think would be useful is to addā€¦

  14. Changes only in case not understood while renaming collections

Minor bug and easy to work around, just thought I'd point it out:

    Original collection name: "Foo Bar"

    Action: Rename to "Foo BAR"
    Expected result: "Foo BAR"
Actual result: "Foo Bar" (no change)

Action: Rename to "Foo Bar Baz"
    Action: Rename to "Foo BAR"
    Actual result: "Foo BAR"

Basically, if you rename a collection and change *only* the case, SCCM doesn't "get the memo" ;).

  15. Override collection membership evaluation settings/remove collection membership evaluation settings from global data

Collections are part of global data. As such, all settings on collections are replicated from any Primary to the Central Administration Site and then down to the other Primaries again.
This includes the membership queries, the way collection membership is evaluated (incremental, full) and when this evaluation is scheduled.

My customer's IT is arranged into different Business Division, each with a high autonomy on how to manage local workstations.
For reasons too long to explain, some of the business divisions need a high number of collections with incremental membership evaluation. They accept that their incremental evaluation cycle lasts +25 minutesā€¦

  16. User/Device Collection Import Feature

I would like to see a feature in the Configuration Manager console, similar to downloading a template in Office apps, for User and Device Collections. Adding a way for the community to also share collections in this repository would be nice as well.

  17. Join Collections

It would be useful to be able to create collections based on the common membership of two other collections, directly from the "Add Rule" button (see attached). This would effectively be an inner join of two or more collections. This option could simply be called "Join Collections".

Of course, this can be achieved using queries within the collection, however doing this at the collection level (instead of within a query) would allow us to create more complex collections much more quickly.

Overall this is a quick efficiency improvement.

  18. SCCM collections management via Active Directory groups

Under our main domain (***.com) are subdomains (de.***.com). Under those subdomains are created groups which consider local computer objects. These subdomain groups are members of group in our main domain.

We run SCCM query which detects computers objects in the main domain and fill those computers into specific SCCM collection.

Our issue is, that if we run a full "Active Directory Group Discovery" and Active Directory downtime, then computers are automaticaly removed from SCCM collection.

We want to prevent a full "Active Directory Group Discovery" removing computers object from SCCM collections if Active Directory subdomains services are unavailable.

  19. Improve collection import to catch unmatched limit to collection ID

When importing a collection to another hierarchy the "limit to" collection ID never matches. Right now we have to manually edit the MOF file. Please improve the import wizard so that if the "limit to" collection ID is not found the user can select a new collection as part of the wizard.

  20. Read collection query WQL for role "Read-only Analyst"

Ability to read collection query logic / statement in WQL when assigned to the Built-in role of "Read-only Analyst". I am a package developer but need to look at and provide advice to others on production and test environments. I have read-only access to everything I usually need except the logic in the collection queries.
