  1. When deploying a task sequence from a collection: Don't clear the chosen collection!

When right clicking a collection and choosing to deploy a task sequence to that collection, after the TS has been chosen the chosen collection is cleared.

When one have made a conscious effort of what collection to deploy to, trust that the operator have made the right choice!

Clearing the collection is a highly unwanted nanny state :(
You might as well remove the possibility to deploy TS's via collections then :(

  2. Quick & Easy way to find all collections with server group setting enabled

In my environment somehow one of our collections had the checkbox for "All devices are part of the same server group" checked (this may be a bug altogether). It was on a workstation collection which prevented those machines from getting updates due to a "Wait on Lock" status. I had to manually click through the collections to find which collection had this setting enabled to clear the lock. It would be helpful to have a quick way to query all collections that have this setting enabled, just in case the admin doesn't know which collection had it enabled.

  3. Send Wake-up packets to a collection outside of a deployment

It would be nice for remote management after hours to be able to send wake-up packets to computers so they could be remoted into

  4. Collection Details in Client properties

In the collection when we select a Device -> Right Click Properties we get below tabs

General/Deployement/Variables, Could we add 1 more tab called Collections to show Device is member of which collections

  5. SCCM collections management via Active Directory groups

Under our main domain (.com) are subdomains (de..com). Under those subdomains are created groups which consider local computer objects. These subdomain groups are members of group in our main domain.

We run SCCM query which detects computers objects in the main domain and fill those computers into specific SCCM collection.

Our issue is, that if we run a full "Active Directory Group Discovery" and Active Directory downtime, then computers are automaticaly removed from SCCM collection.

We want to prevent a full "Active Directory Group Discovery" removing computers object from SCCM collections if Active Directory subdomains services are unavailable.

  6. Security: Prevent or prompt for modifications to collection rules with existing deployments

We now have deployment verification to prevent damaging deployments from being created, but that doesn't stop existing deployments from being deployed accidentally.

It would be great to prevent or atleast prompt for any modifications to collection membership rules (large number of direct adds, include, query) when the collection already has an existing deployment.

  7. Add collection location in collection property

Add info of the "Location" if you search for collection.
e.g. we use Folders and subfolder for companies. and each time we search for collections we dont know the Location.
we got more than 5000 collections.. where this is tricky to find out via
    Eyes .

  9. Allow maintenance window schedules to be applied to reboots

In scenarios where you do not want a workstation or server to be rebooted, any rogue or untrained admin with rights could deploy something to the device without suppressing reboots.

Would it be possible to allow Maintenance Windows to be applied for reboots? This would allow admins to create collections of machines that would only reboot during a set schedule and ensure that the settings cannot be overridden by a deployment.

I could also see this being done via Client Settings, but that would be 24/7 not restricted to a maintenance window.

  10. Add more Power Management Options to Collections

Currently the number of power management options available on collections are limited to what SCCM displays but there are more options available to clients, either expand what is available in SCCM or make it possible to add new power options using the guids for those options.

  11. Collection membership permissions and logging

Please allow us to configure permissions so that individuals can only do direct include or removal of individual machines instead of allowing query based or other collections to be added too. Additionally greater logging of not just that the collection was modified but how it was modified. Most solutions I see out there require a customer scripted or web front end approach which adds complexity to support etc.

  13. Collection link in deployments

When viewing a deployment, make the collection it's deployed to a link. So I can easily view it's membership. Right now I have to stop viewing the deployment and jump over to assets wunderbar and hunt down the collection. In a large environment this is time consuming, especially if you are using both device and user based deployments.

  14. maintenance windows: skip date or add an end date

I'd like a possibility to exclude some date from the maintenance windows schedule, or add an "effective end date" after wich the MW would stop.
    my scenario
windows every two week on Thursday, I'm asked to skip the next one due to exams or other reason (school environment.) several time a year.
right now I change the effective start date for after those event, but I can't do it too much in advance, or there won't be any maintenance until this new effective date.
and if I do it too late, then the computers may not receive the new settingsā€¦

  15. Create collections based on boundary group

With more and more AD admins being directed to "flatten" their sites and services, the ability to create query collections based on an AD site has become moot since boundaries are now having to be manually created by subnet or range. When a new subnet comes online or is taken off, not only does it have to be changed as a boundary and to subsequent groups but now any collections needing that range must also be updated. I'd rather one change to a group dynamically change all other collections tied to the group.

  16. Collections w/ maintenance windows - new icon

Make a new icon for collections with a maintenacne window enabled. This would make it easier to discover which collections have a maintenance window enabled in the console.

  17. Device Collection for Group Membership

Today you can easily create a user collection based on AD Group where the collection has a direct membership for the group. However, this is not true for computers where you cannot add a group to a device collection.

This should be possible as many organizations also create group for computers and having to look for each membership causes a performance issue when you have many groups/group membership

  18. Ability to assign pre/post tasks to maintenance window

Ability to assign pre/post tasks to maintenance window and prioritize content application within the window.

    Example:
    1. patches
    2. appilication deployment A has higher priority than application deployment B
    3. packages
    4. task sequences
    5. settings mgmt remediation

  20. Allow Active Directory Distribution Lists to be Targeted for Deployments in Collections as a Group Resource

Allow Active Directory Distribution Lists to be Targeted for Deployments in Collections as a Group Resource. Currently AD DLs are not able to be targeted, just AD Security Groups are able to be targeted.
