  1. v_gs_environment AND variablevalue0

SCCM SQL View vGSEnvironment.VariableValue0 is a 255 length nvarchar.

We inventory PATH variables with this. 255 is not long enough to grab the entire value. Can this be increased?

  2. Server Groups - Increase Length of Drain and Resume Scripts

The drain and resume scripts are currently limited to 512 characters each. I know there is currently a request to add native cluster aware patching support, but it would be a great start to simply increase the size limit of the scripts. It doesn't seem like there is a safe way to "drain" a server from a cluster to prep it for patching in a mere 512 characters, especially considering that we have to use up some of those characters to return the correct exit code.

We can run some pretty complex and lengthy scripts in configuration items and baselines,ā€¦

  3. Create a collection from search results

When you create a search, for instance within a collection, it would be great if you had the option to save that search/criteria as a new collection. I know you can save the search itself to run again, but sometimes you may need this to be a collection for deployments or something.

  4. Server Groups - Run As Option

There are times when the drain and resume scripts may need to run as an account other than the local system account of the server. We often support "clustered" servers that rely on a clustering method or data outside of Windows fail-over clustering (Exchange being a good example, but not the only use-case).
It would be nice to specify a run-as account for these scripts in order to reach out to external systems using a service account in order to authenticate to those systems for any required health checks prior to patching (drain script) or after patching (resume script). Weā€¦

  5. Include Right Click Option to delete from multiple Roles

When right clicking a Device Collection or just a Computer Name in SCCM can you add the option of deleting not just from the SCCM Console but from AD and WSUS? One click option to delete from all 3 areas at the same time? This would help alot managing assets and cleanup.

  6. Collection protection from deletion

I would like to see some kind of protection from accidentally deletion.
Sometimes I find myself accidentally deleting folder or collections which I did not want to delete.
Just like in Active Directory OU there is a protection for this.

  7. Collection alerts based on membership change

It would be nice if we could alert on any sort of collection membership change, whether it be a new device is added to the collection or if one is removed.

  8. Add OS bitness / Architecture (x64 or x86) column to device collection view in the console

You can display the operating system name but not the bitness. Please add a column for OS bitness / Architecture (x64 or x86) to device collection view in the console

  9. Provide ability to define default settings for Collections

Wouldn't it be nice to have like a "Template" which is used when the Create Collection wizard runs. The template for example could have prefix (like SD - for sofware distribution), a default Collection Update interval, the abiltiy to disable incremental updates when used etc...

  10. Fix include membership rules so that they properly automatically replicate collection membership changes based on incremental updates

As we discovered via premier call (ticket #:16602356). If you use an include or exclude collection rule it is supposed to automatically update the collection membership of the including collection if the included collection membership changes.

It does this properly if your included collection membership changes due to direct memberships or queries if using a full collection schedule. It also works if you trigger a manual collection update of the included collection or the including collection.

However it does NOT work if your included collection uses solely incremental collection updating. The included collection membership changes itself just fine, however theā€¦

  11. Make Task Sequence 'Collection Variables' available in the full OS as an environmental variables

If 'Collection Variables' could be made available in the full OS as an environmental variables, I can then start to control other deployments, i.e. applications, based on the collection they are in.

  12. More granular monthly maintenance windows

Monthly maintenance windows currently can be defined as a day of week occurrence relative to the first day of the month e.g. Second Thursday. However our business would like to define these windows in a different way relative to a specific day of week occurrence. This can be described in two different wordings that give the same result.
Assume two maintenace windows occurring on September 27 2019 and October 4 2019, they can be described as:
    - Friday after the 4th Tuesday & Friday after the 5th Tuesday.
    OR
    - 1st Friday after 4th Tuesday & 2nd Friday after 4thā€¦

  13. Collection creator property

Collections don't currently show any information about who created it, or who last updated it. This information would be helpful to have in the collection properties window.

  14. Collection specific maintenance windows

Maintenance windows should apply to the collection, not the device, and only deployments made to a collection should abide by the maintenance window. Allowing devices to use maintenance windows assigned to other collections outside of what is deployed to the specific collection is cause for issue, especially in a 24 hour operation like a hospital where downtime can affect patient lives. Hope this makes sense

  15. Direct Rule - View Server's FQDN

When adding a server by name to a collection via the Add Rule, Direct Rule, it would be great to see the server's FQDN. When two or more servers share the same name but are in different domains, it's a luck of the draw as to which one gets picked. Thanks!

  16. Ignore Referenced Collection Rules when Deleting

When deleting a collection that is included or excluded in another collection, you must first remove that rule manually from the other collection(s).

Please add the ability to automatically remove those rules with a prompt, similar to how deleting a collection will automatically delete any existing deployments (with a confirm prompt).

  17. Protect Custom Collections from High-Risk Deployments

It would be nice to be able to protect collections from High-Risk Deployments in the same way that the built-in collections, such as All Systems collection is. Perhaps, a tick box on General or Deployments tab?

For example: if I have default size of 100 for hiding collections from high risk deployments, I also have smaller collections of critical systems with less than 100 members that I want protected from high-risk task sequences.

  18. free disk space percent available in WQL

Please create a field and store the free disk as a percentage of the volume size that can be used as a collection query. This will be helpful when trying to find systems that are at risk. With so many types of computer and so many sizes of hard drives, a static amount of disk space available isn't always as telling as a percent can sometimes be.

The main reason for the ask is we're considering peer cache and want a way to "disable" peer cache if the percent of disk space falls below "x" percent and there doesn't seemā€¦

  19. Temporary Collections

Create a new Collection class called "Temporary Collections". When you choose to create a temporary collection, you would be presented with a field to specify the date and time the collection will automatically be deleted. This would be useful for one-time deployments or point in time usage collections. There would need to be logic to prevent other non-temporary collections from using these as limiting, excludes, or includes, but ultimately this would assist greatly in large enterprises and collection creep.

  20. Add "Exclude" option to Context menu

For example, I have a query that populates a device collection based on certain things.
This can be valid for a user collection based on department.
However, if I want to exclude just a couple of computers or users, maybe it would make sense to view all the members of the collection, right click on the ones I want excluded and then "Exclude" them, instead of adding exclusions one at a time or different workarounds.
