  3. Add missing properties to Win32_QuickFixEngineering

The WMI Class ROOT\cimv2:Win32_QuickFixEngineering has an Property InstallDate but I do not get any values returned.

Having the Installed Date available will allow us to sort and see the latest installed patches remotely. This is valuable when assessing problems caused by the latest installed patches.

  4. Capture Cisco CDP and LLDP packets in SCCM reporting for asset tracking

CDP and LLDP packets are generated by network switches and sent to clients to identify which port they are connected to. If the computer is on an enterprise wifi access point, it will capture which access point it is connected to. This data should be captured by SCCM so inventory reports can be run to get a PC's physical location in the network.

This data can be captured with Wireshark, but if SCCM could capture these packets it would aid greatly in PC location and network troubleshooting since it tells you which switch and port number the computer is on.

  5. Add the ability to add registry keys to the hardware inventory from the console

Add the ability to extend the hardware inventory to include registry keys simply by browsing and selecting the relevant keys, similar to the current functionality for adding WMI objects through the client settings in the console. This would avoid the need to use 3rd party tools such as regkeytomof and hacking the configuration.mof file.

  6. Add InventoryLog to replication

Add InventoryLog to replication in a hierarchy. This would allow the ability to query the table from the CAS.

  7. Client Notification ā€“ Option to Collect a Full Hardware/Software Inventory

For troubleshooting purposes would like and option to run a full hardware/software inventory on a client under client notification. Because there are cases when you are trying to troubleshoot why HW or SW inventory data is not flowing into the SCCM database and the best way to do that is forcing the client to perform a full inventory and look at the logs. Delta inventories sometimes do not pick up changes on the client.

  8. Make configuration.mof changes and restores from backup more robust

Currently, changes to configuration.mof appear to be read in based on the timestamp of the file.

This means that if you restore configuration.mof from a backup, it will not be re-read into the database because the timestamp is older.

Recently I had to force a re-read of a backup of configuration.mof by making a trivial change to a comment in the file so that the timestamp was changed and thus hardware inventory would again run on my clients.

It would seem that perhaps a checksum of the file compared to a file that was read in previously would resolve thisā€¦

  9. Manage and Disable Business Hours via Client Settings

Currently you cannot manage business hours within the console using Client Settings. We should be able to set defaults, prevent users from modifying them, and disable them altogether. Our servers do not need business hours and in a highly virtualized environment we can see a global CPU spike at 10 PM when the default Business Hours end.

  10. Details pane for users and devices should show collection memberships

In devices screen, when we select a computer, all collections the computer is member of, should be listed in the below pane.
Also, this feature should be available for users in users screen

  11. Ability to utilise Azure Traffic Manager with Cloud Management Gateway & Cloud DPs

I've dabbled with the deployment of Cloud management gateways, and Cloud DP's and one thing that I observed is that when you create the CMG or CDP you are specifying a region to deploy where you want the resource to be located (east US, West Europe, etc)..
As someone who manages SCCM endpoints at a global level, trying to deploy resources to handle staff to operate across multiple geographic locations (US, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand) you can imagine that I need a lot of Cloud resources to keep traffic local to the endpoints.
It would be fantastic if thereā€¦

  12. Delete multiple expired Client Operations

I would love to be able to select all expired Client operations and be able to delete them all at once..

Now we have to select one by one and delete them.

  13. Control Software Inventory Throttling in Client Settings

Add the ability to control software inventory throttling to the client settings, in order to let admins decide to turn off throttling (without compiling a MOF).

  14. Display Last Logon Timestamp discovery data for ALL devices in console, not just clients

The lastLogonTimestamp attribute is collected during System Discovery from Active Directory. A column for displaying Last Logon Timestamp is available on device views, but only displays the lastLogonTimestamp data for devices where Client = Yes even though the data is there for devices where Client = No. (See attached screenshot from CM CB 1611)

Making a collection of "Discovered but Needs Client" devices is common during initial client deployment and while trying to get to 100% client ***********. The lastLogonTimestamp data is very useful when trying to identify devices to focus on because they've been seen by AD recently.

    Pleaseā€¦

  16. user device affinity exceptions

When configuring automatic user device affinity it would be helpful to be able to include exceptions for things like system accounts and IT admins.

  17. Sorting by the Icon column should sort the different states, especially with device online/offline

Currently, when you sort by the Icon column, the items with the same state icon don't end up sorted together for some reason. With the device online/offline icons now in the console, this is an especially good time to finally fix this issue that goes back to CM12 RTM.

This can be done today w/ #SCCM 1802 (and previous versions too). I will mark started… and watch comments for why this doesn’t just work… before I mark this straight up completed…

    Steps:
    1) On the CAS (or standalone primary), go to Administration → Hierarchy Configuration → Discovery methods
    2) right click on Active Directory System Discovery and bring up the Properties form. Active Directory Attributes tab, and then click on Custom. In the form that appears, type the name of the attribute. Click OK, and make sure you have added it as an attribute to discover. Run discovery after exiting properties form.
    3) Now when you go to the Devices view and right click on a device and go to its Properties form, you will see the new attribute showing up there.

  19. list of collection per device/user

on the admin console, when selecting a device, add a new tab on the preview showing what collections the device/user is member of, like the client check detail, malware detail, etc

  20. Allow the Device Properties dialog box to be resized, by default it is too narrow

Allow the Device Properties dialog box to be enlarged to allow admins to view the tabs with wide content, such as the Deployments Tab in particular. Also for the Deployments Tab reduce the default width of the "Program" and "Type" fields as they generally waste a lot of column area with blank space.
