  1. Device Categories feedback on why it is largely unusable

The device categorisation feature as introduced in v1606 in principle is a great idea only it has a couple of major flaws in implementation that make it in practical terms largely unusable in a production environment:

    1. As it currently stands, it seems that there is no way to get devices to automatically choose a category without offering the choice to the user at enrolment time. Which is kind of what we would want for most people much of the time. Sure you want to have the choice for some users but also for ease and simplicity of use inā€¦

  3. Unified Write Filter - Filter status visible in console

It would be extremely useful, especially for customers in the Education sector to be able to see if a write filter is currently enabled or disabled on a machine through the configmgr console. There may be hardware inventory methods to do this but it wouldn't be close enough to real time to not cause confusion.
Additionally, it would be very useful to be able to send a command to enable or disable the write filter via a right click menu (applied at next reboot or forced reboot).

  4. More possibilities when locking a Device

More possibilities when locking a device.

In other MDM Systems you have the possibility to write a text which should stand on the display (for example if you lose your phone an someone finds it you can write to the display "please call this number *** when you find this phone")
In other MDM Systems it's also possible to change the PIN Code for the phone, to what the admin wants, while locking the device. (also

  5. Read Only Intune connector

Please can we have a read only Intune connector so that we are able to have asset information from standalone Intune in SCCM.

We would like to be able to utilize asset information in the way that you can with hybrid Intune, without having to use hybrid Intune. AS far as i can tell, this is not currently possible in any other way.

  6. Add multiple Device Categories per Device

It would be nice to have the ability to add more than one device category per device. This feature could be helpful not only for MDM soltutions, but also for CMDBs or ITSM tools. Such tool could add a device category to one or more devices and the devices would be queried via device collection query. No more need for direct memberships. This would add more flexibility to collection and device management. Also no need for AD-Group discovery any more is this would be in place.

  8. Wipe Azure AD Joined Devices

at the Moment it's not possible to wipe a Windows 10 device, that is registered through Azure AD Join and Intune Auto Enrollment in a hybrid with SCCM. Please make it possible as a workplace joined device.

  9. Please add the remote device actions to users primary device

You cannot perform remote device actions on a device from the users primary device screen. To perform a remote device action you need to go to a collection in which the device is. This is problematic when the device isn't easily tied to the user. I ended up using the device ID but that isn't optimal. Why can't we do remote device actions when viewing the primary device for a user?

  10. invoke-cmdevicewipe

One of my client asked me to create a script to automatically selective wipe a mobile device that have not connect since 2 months.

I tried with invoke-cmdevicewipe but I can't do selective wipe. This powershell command is for a full wipe only.

It is possible to add a switch to this cmdlets or a new one to selective wipe a mobile device?

I also tried invoke-cmdeviceretire and it's not doing what they want.

    Thanks

  11. Provide the ability to separate retire, wipe and delete resource permissions for different security roles

At the moment, a person requires the delete resource right to wipe/retire a device. Some organisations would prefer to separate the ability to delete, wipe and retire devices.

  12. Find device for mobile Windows 10 clients

Now that Windows 10 contains a find my device feature for mobile devices.... I hope that SCCM will support it in upcoming release.

Hopefully this can be accomplished now that Windows 10 devices can be Azure AD joined.

  13. Schedule wipe/retire

Have the ability to schedule wipe/retire. For instance when a user quits his or her job then we can say that on that day device will be wiped or retired.

  14. Simplify on-prem MDM initial configuration and deployment

Gerry (MVP) posted a great blog about configuring and deploying on-prem MDM for ConfigMgr 1511. Only problem is it was too long, because too many steps are required. Figure out how to simplify the process. How fast can one get SCCM "Out of the box", and "up and running", and "managing on-prem MDM"?

  15. Remote Device Actions SCCM - Send Sync Request to Multiple Devices at Once (Bulk Sync)

Currently you are able to click on a single device and one at a time complete a remote device action of send sync request. This can get cumbersome when trying to refresh a whole fleet of devices. I would like the ability to send a remote sync request to multiple devices at once either by collection or by highlighting multiple devices in the console and selecting option.

  16. Please improve the service feedback in the service manager for the Intune connector

at the moment if you go to Administration Servers and Site systems roles select the Intune connector and select Properties you get nothing about the configuration. Also if you go to monitoring\component status then show status on the Windows_intune_connector you get no status at all regardless of whether it is working. If you go from there Start service manager and try and query the windows_Intune_Service you get an error message "error communicating with component". This all leads you to believe that the Intune service is broken on the SCCM server when in fact this is completely normal behaviour. This isā€¦

  17. Be able to send an SMS text to ConfigMgr hybrid Intune devices

So at least one competitor has the capability to send txt messages directly to managed devices from the administrator. This is useful to be able to draw users attention to changes in policy coming or asking them to upgrade iOS versions, upcoming maintenance of Intune etc. It would be great if we could send a message directly from the CM2012 console to a single device or an entire collection of devices. it doesn't have to be 2 way communication, just a way of sending admin alerts to end users. SMS texts tend to be more immediate in nature and drawā€¦

  18. Add Tenant ID and Service Instance to the Microsoft Intune Subscription View in Admin Console

It is always hard to find tenantID, Onmicrosoft.com address and Service Instance when managing Intune in Hybrid.
It would be of great help if we could get this information in the Microsoft Intune Subscription View in the ConfigMgr Admin Console
