After you create a package, or application, instantly go to the Distribute window or a box asking if you want to go there. I forget to distribute new packages almost every time.3 votes
We are always struggling with user settings deployment (%Appdata%, CU Registry, files in User profile). Now we need to build another deployment type or application. Or we deploy settings with GP Preferences. But the possibility to run a script during deployment in the user context would solve a lot of additional administration. It will make out lives a lot easier ;-)3 votes
Allow a deadline time in which required application installs can be installed outside of maintenance windows
It would be nice to see an option where you can set an application deployment to run outside of the maintenance window after a specific amount of time has passed. Sometimes it is hard to catch laptops in a MW and I generally set myself a reminder to allow install outside of MW to workstation deployments after a few weeks have passed but it would be nice to see this as a feature as sometimes I forget and I am sure not the only one who would find it useful1 vote
The list of membership rules (Asset and Compliance -> Collection -> Properties -> Membership Rules) is way too small.

Servicing mode of Any package or application that are created like
O365 Client to be patched or update thru an Software update that will modified the content (slipstream) with the latest version .
like this we can use into an TS or any new Advertisement with the correct source uptodate.
And spare bandwith and deployment time for be ready on User side (not creating an initial deployment that will be patched after by and Software update one) to achive the result of end user side to have the latest one.1 vote
Refering to this post on the TechNet-Forums, i don't know if this is a bug or by design. We're experiencing the described behavior since v1702. Before that, we were able to reinstall superseded versions from the application catalog / softwarecenter just fine.
This is bagging me because we used this Feature extensively for UAT of new application versions.3 votes
Have a right click option for Applications in SCCM to create a collection of devices its installed on.
It would be useful if there was an option in the SCCM console to right click on an application and have an option to automatically set up a collection using the detection method specified for the application.
i.e. If we have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC v18.11 Application in SCCM, be able to right click it and "create a collection of device or user installs" automatically using the detection method i.e. Windows installer product code or presence of executable plus version etc.
Obviously this can be done manually but would be good if it could be made easier :)0 votes
Extend OSD phased deployment feature for Application deployments as well (including phased supercedance).3 votes
Instead of just showing the number of dependent task sequences when trying to delete an application list them out. Give more information such as the task sequence name it is assigned.9 votes
Install behaviour and inplace upgrade task sequences user notifications could benefit with some improvements.
If users don't meet the set criteria, i.e. have the open application or don't meet the upgrade readiness check, the message to the user shows failure and reports as failure. This is not accurate, it should request the user close affected programs and if it doesn't meet the requirements for upgrade i.e. low disk space, not enough memory, it should display a user friendly message explaining the issue to the customer. A new category, failed readiness check should record this.1 vote
When deploying AppX applications through SCCM you require a certificate that is provided by the publisher.
Although you can deploy the certificate using SCCM it is a separate process to the application deployment.
It would be good to integrate the certificate with the application itself. It would be even nicer if there were options for creating alerts for certificate expiry for the application too.1 vote
Office 365 Client Installation deployment features in 1806 appear to be incomplete and problematic. Uninstall statements are not filled in for one. Application Catalog tab is not filled out either. For some reason, creating deployment sources using the new OCT link integration creates sources which are missing files and generates a 30821-1505 error. Running the setup.exe directly from the source also behaves the same. Running ODT manually appears to work, and the source can be imported into SCCM as it was in prior releases.0 votes
Please add a column in views such as "\Software Library\Overview\Application Management\Applications" so that we can see how many distribution sites the app / package has been distributed to.
Its only a small thing but gives a very quick and easy reference to keep peace of mind.3 votes
BITS job is creates as LOW priority when deploy package or application, but Software Updates download are launched with a BITS priority NORMAL and software updates download prior to package or applications.
If it take a long time to download QU/FU and user want to deploy package or app immediately during client download QU/FU, users cannot do it as far as downloading QU/FU due to the difference of BITS priority.
Add BITS Priority settings for Package ans Application in this scenario.36 votes
It would be really useful for SCCM to be able to store a root or starting point for application content sources or Software Update Packages etc
Its frustrating having to type out or cut and paste a path every time you create a new application to find the content source data.
For example, you could set a default location for these that SCCM would list for you to select when creating an application i.e.
Application Package Sources \\server\app-packages\
Package Source Files \\server\package-store\
Software Updates \\server\updates\
Check if Application is installed before downloading whole package. Currently if I wanted to install Office 365, Configuration Manager will download the whole 2.2 GB file before evaluated if it is already installed.7 votes
sometimes we recieve request to install a software for only period of time and we will have to remeber to remove it and it's quite diffilcult especially when period is great. so we need to remove an application at specific time where we ca specify the date during the installation and once the due date is about to end the user gets pop up message to request an extision of the period which require an approval from the console if he applied for it otherwise to be removed.5 votes
It would be great if ConfigMgr would support waking up clients which are connected to wireless networks and support wake on WLAN (WoWLAN) (in all scenarios where ConfigMgr todays supports already WoLAN). I heard rumors that this works already today (?) because the same kind of wake up packages are used by WoLAN and WoWLAN (?) but this scenario is at least still documented as unsupported, see
I would appreciate a hint if this might work really already today. My customer would love to evaluate/use it today.
In your app, have a tab that says "Tatoo these registry settings in with the install. Install finishes, blam the settings tattoo down.1 vote
Have the ability to schedule an update of content. This way, if we change the source of content, we can schedule the update to happen late at night rather than during the day when it will affect business.5 votes
