  3. Defer/schedule install after application approval request is approved

Currently, if you deploy an application with "An administrator must approve a request for this application on the device" checked, and a user clicks the Request button for the application in Software Center, the application will begin installing immediately as soon as that request is approved.

I'd like to have the option to pop up a notification informing them that the request has been approved, with options to install now, remind later, or schedule the install for later.

  4. On demand app store for devices without user affinity

I am enrolling 3000+ iOS devices to Intune. These are shared devices as we are not a 1:1 deployment. Devices are enrolled without user affinity thus all apps are set to required in order to install. An on demand app store is a much needed feature as it would correct two problems.

First, it would lessen the need for end-users to contact admins to push an app to their device(s).

Second, a store could allow users to install apps on a single device without the need to create a group solely for that individual installation as is the present requirement.

  5. Let Software Version Become a Variable (For Detection Methods)

I always enter the software version number for each application I am patching (Adobe Reader/Acrobat, Chrome, Firefox, Java, etc).

I also use detection methods to determine that the new update has been installed. Is there any way the "Software Version" field I manually populate with the correct version can be a variable that can be used in the detection method MSI/File version field?

It would be great to let the detection method use %SOFTVERSION%, for instance, which points to the software version I am defining every time.

  6. Deployment Types - Installation Program Arguments

Keep the current single box for 'Installation Program' and ' Uninstall Program' under the 'Programs' tab in a deployment type... however allow admins to select 'granular' switches or arguments.

So in this option, the admin would have:
    A 'pre-program install' argument field.
    A 'program' field.
And a 'post-program install' argument field.

    The same for un-installations.

Additionally to this, I imagine the granular options will have a new window.
This windows should also have a 'explore program' button, which when clicked brings up the potential switches or arguments for EXE / MSI / MSIX / etc. Allowing users to select theā€¦

  7. Deployment Types - Templates

So the deployment template will sit at the 'top' of deployment types of an application.

Admins could then choose which deployment types would use the template in a new tab called, let's say 'deployment types applied to'.

Admins would use tick box options on each tab, to choose what they want to be active in the deployment type template.

So as an example. You could have x86 and x64 deployment types where all the tabs, bar the 'Programs' tab, as set by the template.

This way you set the template once, add the x86 and x64 deployment types and youā€¦

  9. Application uninstall with multiple deployment types

Application uninstall should work for the applications created with multiple deployment types as well.

  10. Task Sequence Deployments

Task Sequence Deployments - Immediate Push Failure - Computer Policy initialization from Console.

Forcing a computer policy against a deployment of a Task sequence (any) to run via Software Center, results in failure of downloading of the deployment policy the first time and goes in retry until the agent on the endpoint initiates a polling itself. While SCCM CB is supposed to be user centric and based on Pull methodology, sometimes a deployment needs to be pushed to users immediately and the current behavior causes lot of inconveniences and delays in deploying Task sequence based installations via Software Center (Immediateā€¦

  11. Have an option under Repair Application to run the uninstall and then install commands

in addition to being able to specify a separate command for application repair, it would be nice to be able to just have it run the already specified uninstall command followed by the install command.

  13. Include the ability to add partner IDs, volume licensing IDs, etc, so you can download ISOs available to your license directly into SCCM.

Include the ability to add partner IDs, volume licensing IDs, etc, so you can download ISOs available to your license directly into SCCM. For Office/Visio/etc, the ability to customize the install in a manner similar to the Office Deployment Toolkit would also be necessary.

  14. Application Installation Program

Currently when we want to run PowerShell commands in an ConfigMgr Application we need to wrap them in a script or run them with powershell.exe -command and make it a oneliner. This is because it's always triggered from cmd.exe.
Would be nice to be able to choose to directly start PowerShell.exe and just run the PowerShell command.
An example of what I'd like to achieve is to simply add that command in the "installation program" field.
    Add-WindowsCapability -Online -LimitAccess -Name Tools.Graphics.DirectX~~~~0.0.1.0 -Source .
Currently we have to use this oneliner instead which is far more complex.
    Powershell.exe -NoLogo -NoProfile -NonInteractiveā€¦

  15. Migrate approval requests between applications

Problem: When an application has "require approval" enabled we get a long list of users or devices where this application is approved for. But when I add a new application and delete the old, I loose all approvals! And the users need to request again.

This is a problem in multiple cases:
    1) Example 1: We have an application in version 1.0.1 that and get a new version 1.0.2 I want to make a new application and test this. When it is tested I want to turn on "superceede" and then remove the old application. The license is still validā€¦

  16. Cleanup of MSfB Apps staled versions download by CM

Right now when you setup the Microsoft Store for Business connector and when you approve apps in MSfB. CM downloads all new updates of this apps.

After a while, the storage used by staled versions is quite huge.
For example, if you approve 10 apps (especially Office Apps : Word, Excel, PowerPoint). If there are lots of updates on it, you can reach up to 40 GB of storage content after 2 years. Around 38GB are not used anymore and takes space on the site server.

You should include an automatic cleanup process to delete old versions.

    Thanks

  17. SCCM How to MIGRATE Applications from one VMware SCCM 2012 R2 Server that is dying to a New VM ConfigMan 2012 R2 Server

I need to Move Applications or Migrate them from a dying VMware Server 2012 R2 to a newly built SCCM 2012 R2 VMware Server. Plain and simple, but no documentation is found.

  19. When deleting an application, have the process be similar to deleting a package where it shows exactly what is referencing the application.

When deleting an application, have the process be similar to deleting a package where it shows exactly what is referencing the application such as which task sequences or application dependencies.

Hunting for the task sequence references is a pain. :(

  20. Defer application download until maintenance period

When deploying software to device collections that have a maintenance period the software downloads then waits for the maintenance period to begin installing. It would be great to have the option to defer the downloading process until either the maintenance period or a set amount of time before the maintenance period. This would allow IT departments to defer large software deployments to a time when network traffic is low.

Optionally, provide a new option in the maintenance period settings for when application downloads are allowed to happen.
