  1. Allow Uninstall in Phased Deployments

Allow for uninstalling an application using Phased Deployments. This would work the same as a normal phased deployment, but give the option of uninstalling an application.

Example Case: We need to slowly uninstall Java JRE from all 10,000 of our clients. We would like to use a Phased Deployment that runs the uninstall command in our Java JRE application to slowly remove Java JRE over a period of weeks.

  2. edit custom requirements

Once you create a custom requirement, you can then not edit the custom requirement under the Create Deployment Wizard type. We should have an edit button to edit the custom requirement you created.

  3. Allow Uninstall of Dependent Applications

It should be able to uninstall an application which has been installed as a dependency of an application even though the master Application is still installed.

Uninstalling a dependent application should be an option if the main application would also run without the dependency (when the dependency is a non-runtime). Runtime applications that need to be installed as a dependency (to make sure the master application can be executed properly) should not able to be uninstalled.

I am thinking about a checkbox in the dependency settings of the deployment type which locks the uninstallation of the dependency if checked.

  4. App Icon Gallery

Apart of the new community hub, an application icon gallery where users upload icons. Then when creating a new application, an icon can be selected from the gallery.

  5. Update Notifications to Users for Application Approvals/Denials

Currently, when users request an application through the Software Center, it will generate an email (if setup) allowing helpdesk to approve or deny the request. That feature works great and I think it is a good step forward. However, when the request is approved, no notification is sent back to the user. They would have to manually check the software center to see if the approval went through or if the system is still online outside of their defined business hours, it will automatically install. This is a poor experience from our standpoint as users tend to not notice these…

  6. Upgrade superseded available application immediately

Make it possible to automatically upgrade an application that is deployed as available immediately (without having to wait for the maintenencewindow to apply.)

This was previously the default behaviour, but is no longer possible? Can this be made an option again?

  7. Ability to check if application is running before installing

Same as we have with the application deployment toolkit in powershell.

It will be grate to have a check if application is running before installing.

For ex: We want to update application A.0 . If the application is running user will be asked to close it before installing update A.1 or if not open it will install the update silenty. If the user try to open the application A.0 during the upgrade a pop-up notification will said that the application cannot be open while SCCM is upgrading it.

  8. automatic phased deployment

Wait, wait hear me out. What if you could target a deployment to a single collection and ConfigMgr just thought up random groups of 20-30 machines at a time and made the deployment available to the next group after a specified period of time. Essentially creating an automatically built phases with no real requirements other than "x" amount of time has passed since the previous groups.

  9. phased deployment

For phased deployment, if any application is updated then phased deployment already created for it to be restarted.

  10. Add Deployment Type Requirement for Windows 10 versions.

We want to be able to differentiate the Windows 10 versions. Some Appliactions should only be available to a typical Windows 10 version for example Windows 10 1803. Now(SCCM 1810) we only have the option to add a requirement for All Windows 10 (x64) or All Windows 10 (x86).

  11. Pre-install notifications & improvements to install behaviour

    Hello,

I would find it very useful if we had the ability to create a customisable pre-install message to customers for any application, package, software update or task sequence that is deployed to a client.

This would make it easier to provide pre-install instructions to customers such as making sure their device is connected to power, network cable or to close an application before the install continues. At the moment this is achieved by using a customisable HTA message but it's quite clunky.

It would also be useful to improve install behaviour and inplace upgrade checks which when they are…

  12. Phased Deployments - Reusable template

Provide a way for a template of settings to be stored and invoked for new phased deployments, so the same collections/settings do not have to be specified for new phased deployments.

  13. SCCM Console: Add PackageID column in applications item view

Get-CMApplication shows me a PackageID for my applications. In the SCCM Console in the application item view it is not selectable.

  14. Allow install and uninstall of applications in Application Group

The TP 1905 Application Group allows to select multiple applications, but you can only install or uninstall the entire group and not individual applications.

It would be neat to allow selecting whether those individual apps in the group should be installed or uninstalled. For e.g., in an app group for a specific user profile, I could deploy app1 as install, app2 as uninstall and app3 as install in that order.

  15. Resend application approval request email if in "Requested" status after x days

It would be nice if application approval request emails would resend if they are in the "requested" status after x amount of days as a reminder or if they email accidentally was deleted.

  16. Add the possibility to remove/delete and extract/export application package icon

Sometimes we pick a bad icon for the application package so we may want to remove it till theres a better one... or just want to reuse that icon because we dont have that source anymore or just arent able to find it and sometimes getting the correct icon is just crazy work (by that i mean the need to have the correct format or be able to hack the resources)

  20. App Approval - Include User “comments” in Email

The new App Approval feature in 1810 is looking great. So we can build on integration with other services and service desk software it would be handy to include the users “comment” in the email body.
Expanding on this and having the ability to add a “cost” and “billing code” field to the app request will enable the app procurement lifecycle to more streamlined.
