  2. Dynamic Deadlines on Deployments

I would love to be able to configure deadlines that are based on how long a device/user has been in the collection. This way, the deployment will be "available" for, say 7 days, and then will become required. This would allow the use of 1 collection and deployment to be used over time.

  4. Application Post deployment feature

It would be beneficial to have a Post Installation feature for application deployment .
For example If Application A and B are required however application B can only be installed after Application A. Understand Dependency can be used to achieve this however in case of inplace upgrade of Office it is advisable to remove the previous versions and then install the new version .
A post installation feature can be useful for inplace office upgrade with all other products such as addins , Project visio can be post installed. This will considerably reduce the time for support
    Understand the workaround…

  5. User centric application deployment with dependencies requiring elevation

If we talk about modern management, we deploy applications to user collections. In that case detection method PowerShell scripts are executed in user context and not System. This behavior is inherited to dependencies, but the dependencies may require elevation.
E.g., if you want to deploy a Microsoft Store based Linux distribution via CM to users, you need to install the Microsoft Windows Subsystem Linux first. The detection for WSL in PowerShell is “(Get-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux).State”, but it requires Elevation.
In you create an appx-based Linux Distribution application with the WSL application as Dependency it fails if it is deployed…

  6. When i distribute software/images,whatever to a distribution point, i want to be able to specify when it should go to the distribution point

When i distribute software/images, whatever to a distribution point, i want to be able to specify when it should go to the distribution point. With bandwidth limited sites I cant let SCCM just distribute a 500mb package during the day. It Would be great to specify a day/time (sunday 3am for example) when it can update the distribution point

When you run a SQL query on v_Packages I find there are empty entries for the source location for the Applications

  8. Allow Application to call Packages as a dependency

I appreciate the design is very different but it would be great if a package could be called as a dependency for an Application

  9. edit custom requirements

Once you create a custom requirement, you can then not edit the custom requirement under the Create Deployment Wizard type. We should have an edit button to edit the custom requirement you created.

  10. Add uninstall content path to the Create Deployment Type wizard

Currently, in the New Deployment Type wizard, you can only specify a single content source. Now that we can have separate content source folders for uninstall, we have to create our deployment types without specifying this then edit the deployment type and add the second content folder. Please add the content options from the deployment type properties to the initial wizard.

  14. phased deployment

For phased deployment, if any application is updated then phased deployment already created for it to be restarted.

  15. Ability to check if application is running before installing

Same as we have with the application deployment toolkit in powershell.

It will be grate to have a check if application is running before installing.

For ex: We want to update application A.0 . If the application is running user will be asked to close it before installing update A.1 or if not open it will install the update silenty. If the user try to open the application A.0 during the upgrade a pop-up notification will said that the application cannot be open while SCCM is upgrading it.

  16. Allow Uninstall in Phased Deployments

Allow for uninstalling an application using Phased Deployments. This would work the same as a normal phased deployment, but give the option of uninstalling an application.

Example Case: We need to slowly uninstall Java JRE from all 10,000 of our clients. We would like to use a Phased Deployment that runs the uninstall command in our Java JRE application to slowly remove Java JRE over a period of weeks.

  17. Task Sequence Applications removal/update.

When you are retiring an application it would be extremely convenient if you were given an option to remove it from all task sequences or update it to the newer version. A small prompt could walk you through this and easily help get everything setup for a very clear removal or swap of applications.

  19. Install application per device but without having to first deploy applications to collection

I really like the new feature (1906) to be able to install application from 1 device. But this only works when you deployed the applications available to a collection where the device is included.

Why not enable the option and than show all your created applications that you want to deploy?

We sometimes would like to be able to install an application for 1 device but we don't want to have to deploy it first to a device collection. We also don't want to have the application request about it.
