  1. App Icon Gallery

Apart of the new community hub, an application icon gallery where users upload icons. Then when creating a new application, an icon can be selected from the gallery.

  3. Administrator approval requirement visibility in console

Please add new column in deployment view of the application and in deployment view in monitoring, showing if this deployment is under approval or not, now we need to open deployment properties to check this.

  4. Make it easier to troubleshoot application deployments on clients

When we need to troubleshoot application model deployment issues, you need to find, Application CIUniqueID, DeploymentType ID's, Deployment ID's and ContentID's.
There are several different ways to get all these information. But there is no easy way. Either you need to search around in the console, adding new columns, or you need to run the console in debug mode to get those information. Unfortunately, all of these methods are difficult to low-level support agents. So it would be very nice to have a right click option in the console for applications, to get all information that is neededā€¦

  5. Progressbar/message on logon screen during application deployment

When deploying applications with "when no user is logged on", the user doesn't know what's happening or when it's done. This is a big issue with time-consuming deployments, ex. Office.

We need an option to display a progressbar/message to inform the user that Application X is being installed and that they should not log in until this Message dissapears. The Message should be customizable.

The progressbar/Message should also be shown if they log in and out, in case someone tries to use it and logs out because Application Y didn't work (while X being upgraded)

  6. Package and application templates

It would be nice with an option where you can define package and application templates.
An application can require a lot of input; with a template, many of the options can be pre-filled. This will make it easier to create new applications, and they will be created the same way each time.

It should be possible to add/edit and delete the templates.

Coretech have a similar tool for software update.

  7. General Application Deployment like Pre-Production client deployment

The SCCM client can be set to deploy to any collection over any number of weeks/days/months. And it will automatically get it done. I Used this to upgrade all the clients in my environment without impact. It would be nice to be able to do this for ANY application. Currently we have to manually break up all the collections and do "waves" with an RFC for each one. I would like to be able to set it and forget it. Say.. Deploy new version of Chrome Browser. To all comptuers over the next 31 days.

  8. Upgrade superseded available application immediately

Make it possible to automatically upgrade an application that is deployed as available immediately (without having to wait for the maintenencewindow to apply.)

This was previously the default behaviour, but is no longer possible? Can this be made an option again?

  10. Different detection methods for install and uninstall

We need to be able to have different detection methods for install and uninstall. For large software we need to know that files x, y & z need to exist, shortcuts in the start menu and uninstall entry in the registry. That will be the install detection. All of this needs to be true. But for uninstall we need to know if any of those are still there. The differens is "and" (for install) and "or" (for uninstall).

Detection should also be possible by a ps1-file in the source folder.

  11. Improve Operating System Requirement Choices for Application Model

the provided Application Model Operation System Conditions for Windows 10 versions are limited in scope. Currently the Operator options for Windows 10 are two choices.

Windows 10 (Select This to get the two below)
All Windows 10 64bit ( or select one of these)
    All Windows 10 32bit

As I am operating in an environment that now has multiple Windows 10 builds (IE 1709, 1809, 1903 etc) These each should be provided as evaluation conditions because I may have specific software that I am updated that is necessary on specific builds of Windows 10.

Windows Server should also be updatedā€¦

  12. Improve email application approvals

Improve email application approvals to show the email address that get's the approval email after the deployment has been created. You can't see it in the deployment via GUI or via powershell. Also, please add the option to set the email via powershell (New-CMApplicationDeployment). We want to use this feature, but not having a way to automate it or report on our current deployments makes it sort of a non-starter as we are currently automating deployments.

  13. Place the client Version and Client status (Active or Inactive) in Software Center

Placing the clients version and status in Software center would help to see if the client is having issues (Active or Inactive) and also see if the version needs updating instead of going into the applet in control panel.

  14. Office Customization Tool should organize settings into subcategories and needs to update Office 2016 language.

Office Customization Tool should reference subcategories and needs to be updated from Office 2016 language. The same settings that existed in the Office 2016 Customization Tool still exist in the new tool but they are all lumped together in the root categories. Some of the settings names are vague and only make sense once you figure out what subcategory they were formerly associated with. For example, the settings for auto-correct are lumped together with security and encryption settings. Like the Office "Arabic modes" setting. I had to open up the description before it was clear this was a spell checkā€¦

  15. The ability to replace an application in all task sequences at one time.

The ability to replace an application in all task sequences at one time.

(Scenario: I have many task sequences for multiple regions, and have the same application in all of them. Then an updated version of the application is released, and I'd like to update all of the task sequences with the updated version instead of doing it individually in each task sequence. I'm not ready to remove the old app from SCCM yet in case some of our techs need it. I usually keep the outdated app for 3 months before removing from SCCM.

    ****Plus a bonus would beā€¦

  16. Create ā€œmaster-applicationsā€ and download user specific settings as a deployment type.

I would like to see the option to have one deployment type as a base for all our customers and then add customer specific settings an other deployment type.

    Example 1:
Adobe Acrobat XI Pro would be the default deployment type and the MST-transform file, containing user customizations and license information, downloaded based on OU-Membership or some other variable and applied during the installation.
    Example 2:
Office 2013 ProPlus as the default deployment type and the ā€œMSPā€, containing user customizations and license information, downloaded based on OU-Membership or some other variable.

  18. Create Program Wizard Dialogs should be stretchable so that they can be taller.

Specifically the Requirements dialog in the wizard under platform requirements can vary in the number of Platforms displayed, if the dialog was expandable by dragging the corner or bottom down we could see more platforms AND is should remember the stretch so we don't have to do it every time.

  19. Deployment Types - Templates

So the deployment template will sit at the 'top' of deployment types of an application.

Admins could then choose which deployment types would use the template in a new tab called, let's say 'deployment types applied to'.

Admins would use tick box options on each tab, to choose what they want to be active in the deployment type template.

So as an example. You could have x86 and x64 deployment types where all the tabs, bar the 'Programs' tab, as set by the template.

This way you set the template once, add the x86 and x64 deployment types and youā€¦

  20. Volume Activation should be built into SCCM

Rather than having added tools like the Volume Activation Management Tool this should be built into SCCM.
