  1. Please build an MSI wrapper into a console release.

Just to make like easier, why not build in an MSI wrapper tool into the console.

  2. Add a column option on Applications and Packages to show # of DPs

Might seem like a silly thing, but a column added to Applications and Packages that will show the number of DPs that have the application or package on it.
Often times a high overview of how many DP's have the package can help determine if we need to distribute it to other DPs.

Case in point: When we build test applications, we tend to want to deploy the application to our local DP before we deploy it to the other DP's so we can ensure things work before distributing it.
Sometimes we need to browse through each application to see…

  3. Option to tag production Packages (SU,Drivers, ...), Applications, TaskSequences

Provide an Option to tag Packages that are productive. This tag should make them read-only (until untagged) and maybe give the dialogues a different color. So all untagged packages would be in development and can be changed (this will also keep operations as is today if not used). On top it would be great to delegate that right (to set or unset that tag) using RBAC to dedicated release managers (away from the packaging team). Also tagging a task sequence and with that all reference packages would be great.
Copying such production packages should be possible to create new release…

  4. Integrate certificate for AppX applications

When deploying AppX applications through SCCM you require a certificate that is provided by the publisher.

Although you can deploy the certificate using SCCM it is a separate process to the application deployment.

It would be good to integrate the certificate with the application itself. It would be even nicer if there were options for creating alerts for certificate expiry for the application too.

  5. The integration between APP-V and SCCM should leverage more of the APP-V scenarios of deployment.

Example: when deploying an APP-V package to a user collection as available via SCCM, the end user will have to go to the Application Catalog, look for the application and to install the APP-V package. The same scenario via APP-V will make the application available to the user in a shortcut at the start menu, when the user sees the shortcut and decides that is necessary to use that application, it simply click on the shortcut and the APP-V in the background makes the application available.
The scenario is more likely to have like a WSUS and SCCM integration, that…

  6. Maintenance Windows vNext

Please do not force us to use UTC for maintenance Windows in vNext. This will overcomplicate MW's across multiple time zones.

  7. Edit master list of Return Codes for Deployment Types

I would like to edit the default list of Return Codes that are used in Deployment Types. We often use WinRar executables which adds 1000 to all exit codes. And we also have our own applications which use their own codes. It would be nice to edit the default list to include these so we dont have to do it for each deployment type.

  8. Unique Software IDs (SCCM-ID)

In our SCCM environment we use unique Software IDs (SCCM-ID) for Applications and Packages.
At the moment the field "Adminstrator comments" is being used.
An optional field for Software IDs under "General Information" would be very helpful.

  9. Allow for creation of a deployment with type "required" for primary devices, but "available" for non primary devices

When deploying applications, it would be great to have the option to deploy the application as required to the users primary device, but within the same deployment also allow it to be available when the user logs on to a non-primary device. this will eliminate the option to create separate collections for this, as it is not possible to deploy the same application to a collection twice.

  10. Add an "All Items" category to Software Center

Please add an "All Items" category to Software Center and have this displayed by default whenever a user clicks on a notification/toast. This would eliminate the dozens of calls we get from the end-users who ask "where's the update I was just asked to apply"?

  11. notification for updated windows store for business apps

I love the Windows store for Business integration within SCCM. It makes my job considerably easier since my company's IT Security team doesn't want the store to be open. It would be highly beneficial to be able to set up an alert for when a Store app gets updated. This would allow a more seamless experience for our users.

  12. Deploy Multiple Applications for a User Collection

I have over 100 applications and I wanna deploy multiple applications for user collections. Is there any method for this?

  13. Add the ability to elevate the User but, not in the System context.

There should be a check box for User Based installations to elevate the user during the installation process. There may have to be something to disallow activity outside the installation process for security reasons. There is a problem getting user profile data to the user's profile AT INSTALLATION TIME and keeping uninstallation functionality. The user won't have rights to install the machine portion or uninstall the application without it, as a user based installation. Active Setup and working the default user profile are not great solutions for this and don’t populate the user’s profile running as local system at installation…

  14. Browser plugins

If a plug in is needed for a webpage and it is not installed on the machine redirect the user to the Application Catalog instead of the vendor site. For example, user needs Flash, the page prompts the user to install Flash and directs them to the App Catalog. Do not know if this it technically possible but would be neat. Especially if it worked with all browsers.

  16. Allow 2 sets of user experience options for deployment of application with supersedence

Consider this scenario: You have an application deployed as Available. You create a new application that supersedes the original application and deploy it as Available but with the option to automatically upgrade any superseded versions of the application.

I would like to customize the user notification options so I can select "Display in Software Center, and only show notifications for computer restarts" when it is available, but select "Display in Software Center and show all notifications" when it becomes required to upgrade a superseded version.

  17. Deploy Application during WinPe phase of Task Sequence

We deploy BIOS updates as applications to existing clients. Applications give nice benefits like detection (WMI query), compliance reporting etc. There are other early boot firmware packages (AMT, NICs...) that could use this model, but BIOS is the most usual.

However we can't use the same Application in Task Sequence WinPE phase to immediatly bring machine up to date during initial deployment/boot. Therefor we must either:
    A. create a Package just for TS - extra work
    B. install BIOS updates later after OS deployment. However this brings other complications - experience tells that BIOS should be up-to-date before deploying anything.

    …

  18. Add Priority Column to Applicaions and Packages

It think it would be helpful to include an optional column to display the Priority of an application or package. We schedule DP's for allow high priority only for business hours and occasionally need to override an application to High to force it to distribute.

Also when a new DP is brought online and added to the DP group it automatically starts distributing everything set to High so we have to go in and start changing things to Normal.

If we could add a Priority column to the view it would be easy to sort and find at a glance…

  19. After Running option in Program wizard

When creating a program, the wizard should have the option to set "After running". Currently, after the wizard, I have to edit the program to change that value. Other missing fields include User Description, Category, and additional requirements. Having those in the wizard will minimize the chance of missing them.

SCCM Packages - Install another program first does not respect "Only when no user is logged on" while one has setting "Allow software installation outside of maintenance window when assignment time is reached"
I deployed one Package that had to uninstall first old version of the program and the install the new version, Only when user is logged off. Only uninstallation worked while user was logged on=fail. There was no deadline for the installation and Maintenace Window was 16.00-06.00.
