  1. disable user interaction during installation of a task sequence

While installing Software using a Tasksequence on a FatClient (f.e. because one or more necessary Reboots) the according user must not log on to the system. Currently there is no option in Task Sequence Editor to disable/re-enable Logon.

  3. Deployment Enforcement after grace period expires

We have discovered an issue with the current grace period feature (and got this bug confirmed with a case) not enforcing the deployment after expiration (Software Updates & Application).

    This results in multiple things:
    - the selected duration of the grace period is irrelevant for the deployment enforcement
    - as long as the client is only online during configured business hours an enforcement never occurs (so the documented "...reverts to normal behavior for overdue deployments." does not occur)

As a result an enforcement is not assured and renders this feature unusable if you have the requirement to enforce e.g. softwareā€¦

  5. Global Variable for Software packages

For the installation of applications without a floating license it would be helpFor the installation of applications without a floating license it would be helpful if there were global variables for license keys or configuration settings that I could use during packaging. So you don't have to enter the license key into the package, but you can use e.g. a WMI query to get this variable and enter the license key/configuration that way.

  6. Enhance documentation & setting to control deployment available time randomization

We have discovered, that the available time of a application deployment is randomized per client (we have discovered a range of 0 - 120 minutes).

This behaviour is not documented and caused some headaches.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/apps/deploy-use/deploy-applications

Additional to the documentation of this beviour (including the maximum randomization time) we would love to see a client setting to control this behaviour, similar to the "Disable deadline randomization" setting for the deployment deadline.

  7. Edge Chromium - Create Microsoft Edge Application - enable MSI logging

    Dear PG,

we deploy all our software with MSI verbose logging to allow us proper troubleshooting for any type of installations errors. This way MECM Task Sequence or Application error handling codes it not the only way. We end up in a lot of cases where an in place upgrade happens without a proper way to troubleshoot.

There is zero way in SCCM to enable logging for Edge Chromium installations/updatest at all. There is no parameter which works or is supported. We would like to get to the MSI a way to enable verbose logging with changing the path andā€¦

  8. Add Support For VB in Scripts

    Hello,
Would it possible to add support for Visual Basic in the Scripts area of the Software Library? Currently, the only option is Powershell and there's a drop-down menu for that only option (?). I understand Visual Basic is practically pre-historic in these modern times we live in, but i work in an old organization with lots of VB support scripts that could very handily be deployed on-the-fly from the Scripts function....

    Thanks,
    Chuck Olson

  9. Creating Online Store App from WSfB - Region=ALL does not apply with SCCM

The Native Store Application creation from the 'License Information for Store Apps' has no ability to set the REGION of a Store App (AppX).

There are applications that require the Region switch applied when adding the AppX application via DISM. But the native application creation for the OFFLINE Store Apps has no ability to add additional parameters.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-client/shell-experience/pre-installed-microsoft-store-app-removed-logon

I have had a Support Ticket with Premier Support to confirm the behaviour, and provide a workaround. Which is not desirable because the Native Console functionality should be able to provide this - REG:120061124002653

I would like the "Create Application" dialogs forā€¦

  11. Allow approvers of application deployments to be changed

As it stands, the console allows approvers to be defined when creating an application deployment but when attempting to change them or enable approval on an existing deployment, we're currently met with a single tickbox, with no way to edit the approvers.

'An administrator must approve a request for this application on the device'

Please introduce a way in which approvers can be amended either via the CLI or GUI.

  12. Warn when deployed application hasn't been uploaded to distributed points

Suggestion: If you try to install an application that hasn't been distributed, the software center indicates "installing" with a spinning blue wheel. This unnecessarily trips up people new to SCCM and can make for a frustrating end user experience.

Can the Management Console warn when you're trying to deploy an app that's not distributed?

  13. Let available applications automatically upgrade like in required mode

Some of our customers work in the application model with available deployments. They would like to let the employees choose which application they want to install, but the update should be installed automatically if the user has already installed an application himself via the software center.

Let's assume that with the help of Supersedence we update Application with name "Av1.0" with a second Application named "Av1.1" via available deployment. Then the supersedence should recognize whether the product assigned with the help of the available deployments was installed on a client and if so, the update should take placeā€¦

  14. it would really help if symbolic links were supported in sccm apps or packages. that will cut the size of big bundles.

Recently I have been working with Microsoft engineer to help us packaging big application bundles and turned out that SCCM does not support symbolic link. when we package apps with symbolic links all is good until we deploy it and check client cache on the client machine where the symbolic link does not show up / disappears. we use symbolic link to minimize package size specially for Autodesk suits where multiple apps packaged together each requiring same library files and tools.

  15. Have the client wait for Windows Installer to finish if another installation is in progress. To avoid the 1618 error.

When the deployment type is of type Windows Installer, the client should check if Windows Installer is free and not running another installation.
    Just to avoid error 1618.

  16. Application Deployment with option free disk space

SCCM 1906: application deployment with global option disk space

i added a requirement of free disk space of 47GB for a deployment type and i wonder why its not working this way: show application in software center even with less than 47Gb but mention that its not installable because of too less free space...

Now i dont see it in software center at all if less than 47GB free space and even if its already installed i cant uninstall it if less than 47GB are free after installation because i cant see it.

Wouldnt make it much more sense ifā€¦

  17. Application quantity property

It would be helpful to have the ability to assign a QTY to an Application property and to be able to report against it. Purchased vs deployed=Availability. I have been posting the purchase info in the admin comments for myself but management can't report from it.

  18. Application deployment and "Maintenance Windows" setting kills the application when downloading

    -Problem overview
If you deploy the application under the following conditions, the running application will be killed immediately after the download phase.
The customer has set "Maintenance Windows", and the problem is that the application is killed at a timing outside the "Maintenance Windows" range.

This behavior is reproducible. (Confirmed with MECM 2002)
I want to confirm whether this behavior is a by design or a known issue.

    -Repro step
    1. Set "Maintenance Windows" to the device collection. The next step is to set the installation deadline before entering "Maintenance Windows".

    1. In the application's Deployment Type properties, on the Installā€¦

  19. Intranet client with domain user will not be able to get the user based application through the CMG

Currently, when client machine connect to VPN which is in the intranet, only when the user is a cloud user, it will use cmuserservice endpoint. If the logged in account is on-premise domain account, it will access cmuserservice_winauth all the time then the software center cannot see user-based applications.

Please add this feature to allow domain account to get user-based application through CMG when connect VPN as this is quite useful scenario.

  20. Prioritize application deployments

This an idea to add a functionality so we can set a priority from 1-10000 for multiple software deployments.

Currently if one of the packages require a reboot and they get installed ahead of the others that will hold up the deployments until the machine is rebooted.
