  1. make configmngr Client aware of UDA administrative Primary assignments

As per my experience, configmngr client is not aware of administrative UDA assignments,it is only aware, and creates a UDA entry in CCM_useraffinity, based on the automatic UDA assignment set in client settings.

As a consequence the requirement in DT for Primary DEvice/User only will be true based on usage at the client ( think if the users is able to set his primary device on soft center too).

It will be nice to create new entries at the client based on administrative assignment at the server, I think the best method should be a machine/user policy update where thoseā€¦

  2. Inconsistent feature support in different wizards

By introducing new features or capabilities into CM not all wizards have been updated. That creates an inconsistent behavior. I tried to address that as bugs but was told this would be feature requests and must go to user voice.

Software Update Group Deployment & Automatic Deployment Rules
Software Update Groups can be deployed as available (we use this e.g. for the newest driver updates), but ADRs can only create Required deployments.

    Provisioned appx
You can set on appx based applications ā€˜Provision this application for all users on the deviceā€™ and ā€˜Allow that application to be installed from the Installā€¦

  3. Complete and Robust Control of System Reboots

There are many suggestions about reboots, but really, generally, there needs to be a robust and completely customize-able way to configure EVERYTHING about system restarts in ALL circumstances. Ideally this would be in a dedicated module, with the ability to create multiple definitions that can be applied to maintenance windows, application and update deployments, OSD, etc..

That means everything.....what kinds of prompts the users sees, what their options are in terms of postponing, conditional rules based on whether a user is logged on or not, EVERYTHING.

The VAST majority of my user complaints about system maintenance are related to systemsā€¦

  4. Auto uninstall application based on Software Metering useage

Please add an option in the Application Model to auto uninstall the application after xx number of days. This could be linked to Software Metering. This would be extremely beneficial to manage applications for license reclamation as well as removing vulnerable applications from the environment.

  5. Office Customization Tool should organize settings into subcategories and needs to update Office 2016 language.

Office Customization Tool should reference subcategories and needs to be updated from Office 2016 language. The same settings that existed in the Office 2016 Customization Tool still exist in the new tool but they are all lumped together in the root categories. Some of the settings names are vague and only make sense once you figure out what subcategory they were formerly associated with. For example, the settings for auto-correct are lumped together with security and encryption settings. Like the Office "Arabic modes" setting. I had to open up the description before it was clear this was a spell checkā€¦

  7. Provide the capability to create an application deployment template

Similar to how we can assign a deployment template to patches, If we could create an Application deployment template, so that when we have multiple applications that we need to test over several different test groups, we can simply assign a template, and the template will automatically assign the rest of the settings. This would significantly speed up deployment processes, and simplify things, and help prevent mistakes.

  8. Real time application repair

Support real-time application repair along side Install. Let's make it easy for our service desks to trigger a repair option. Oh and uninstall would be neat as well I guess.

  9. Actually use the specified exit code description

Would be nice if when entering custom exit codes for an application deployment, and entering the custom description you want for it, the description would be displayed in the deployment status under monitoring. This would help greatly when using custom exit codes to determine why a script a failed. Instead it returns the windows error code description which can be confusing.

  10. Make "hidden" UX option for Application Deployment Types actually hide everything

The installation program visibility in the User Experience tab on Application Deployment Types allows the selection "Hidden" which is defined as "Hidden: The deployment type runs hidden on client devices. Users see no installation activity." (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/apps/deploy-use/create-applications#bkmk_dt-ux)
However, this only applies to the FIRST process being spawned by the execution of the defined install/uninstall/repair commandline. All other processes are spawned interactively on the logged on user's desktop even if the option "Allow users to view and interact with the program installation" is NOT checked.

Right now this behavior prevents us from using Applications instead of Packages as exposing theā€¦

  11. Upgrade superseded available application immediately

Make it possible to automatically upgrade an application that is deployed as available immediately (without having to wait for the maintenencewindow to apply.)

This was previously the default behaviour, but is no longer possible? Can this be made an option again?

  12. Inform a user when an application has been closed by an installing package

    Running 1906 with hotfix.
When using the option to "Automatically close any running executables you specified..." while deploying a product which needs an application closed, when the deadline is reached the applications are closed, but there is no notification to the user as to why. If in front of their machine, the user will then invariably re-open the application (especially if this is Outlook) which will cause the installation to fail.
I would suggest that when the application is automatically close, a message box is shown informing the user what's happened which stays on screen until the installation is complete,ā€¦

  13. Phased Deplyments for Available applications with supersedence

Phased deployments are great, but we have lots of users, with lots of applications that are nor required, but are superseded.

Say we have 100,000 users, 50'000 have an application installed that has an update. We don't want a required deployment as not everyone has the application, and we don't just want to deploy the update to the application to 50,000 in one go. so this feature would be nice.

  14. Visual confirmation policy has been downloaded

It would be great after initiating a Machine Policy Retrieval & Eval cycle if there were some visual confirmation that policy was downloaded, either a Yes/No or a total number of policies downloaded. The one visual confirmation available is the systray Software Center icon but that is sometimes suppressed depending on the deployment config. Too often people mash that Machine Policy button half a dozen times b/c they think that makes it work faster not realizing there is no policy being downloaded, for whatever reason. This would come in handy during testing as well.

  15. Add Drillthrough to Office 365 Pilot and Health Dashboard

Would like the ability to drill through to a list of devices in the Office 365 Pilot and Health Dashboard. For example, clicking the Recommended Pilot Devices bar would display the devices.

  16. Make deleting applications easier when it has dependencies

Currently, when trying to delete an application and it has dependencies like task sequences, virtual environments and settings, we have to try and track down where these dependencies are. This can be difficult if you have dozens of these, so it would be great instead of just telling us the number of dependent objects, we could see which ones they were in order to remove the dependency and delete the application.

  19. Add support for detecting a superseding app when a superseded app is deployed

It would be nice to have an option NOT to install application A if superseding app B is detected (but not deployed).

    Scenario:
Let's say the B is being installed via OSD or outside of ConfigMgr. However there is still deployment of A to the collection where machine resides, and ConfigMgr will ultimately install A as well, probably breaking both apps.

  20. Tasksequence Manager can switch in currently running TS installation between MP and CMG

When a TS Installation is running, and the mobil working User stops the VPN connection to the on prem MP, the SCCM Agent switch to the Internet Mode and connect the CMG. But the currently running Tasksequence runs now in offline mode and gets timeouts on every TS step to reach the MP. Mostly the TS run out of time.

It would be nice when the TSManager realize when the network was switched as does the sccm agent and switch to the CMG as well.
