  1. Lookup Automatic for Task Sequence Variables

when editing an existing task sequence and creating new conditions based on variable values, why not add an auto lookup or list of all Task Sequence variables existing in this same task sequence. it will make condition creation more easy and less error possible. Most easy to pick up existing variables in task sequence

  3. Add computers to collections when creating USMT association

When I create a computer association for USMT, I also put the computers into collections ("USMT Capture" and "USMT Restore" collections.) It would be great if the computers could be automatically added to a set of user-defined collections (one for source computer and one for destination computer, with the possibility that they're the same collection) when the association is created, then automatically remove the computers from the collection(s) when the association is deleted.

  4. Improve Collapsible Task Sequence Groups

The Task Sequence Editor should not expand collapsed groups when any changes are made. Once a group is collapsed it should remain collapsed until I expand it. It should also remember what groups were collapsed between editing sessions.

Essentially make it work like the editor in MDT does. The editor in MDT already does this.

  6. Operating system upgrade: delete previous installations after Windows 10 upgrade

After an operating system upgrade, it would be nice to be able to delete the files of the previous installation in order to free up disk space. Cleanmgr.exe doesn't work under SYSTEM context.

  8. The ability to compare and merge Task Sequences and version after the merge

I would like the ability to load up a couple of Task Sequences, and have the ability to merge any changes between the two TS's.

This would assist when importing TS over from a TEST or DEV env or working on test TS in the same environment. Ideally have the option to approve /deny each of the merges before submitting.

Once merged, version the change to a later increment so neither of the two TS's are saved over?

  9. Allow Mandatory Task Sequence Warning message timeout configuration

The "Mandatory Task Sequence Warning" message is hardcoded to 2 or 3 minutes. It is possible for most applications of this to be a good idea. In the case of rapid deployment such as I am establishing for large numbers, it is way too long. The ability to modify this timeout would significantly improve the process.

  10. Change USMT Encryption Strength during OSD

Currently, when using the USMT steps for capture and restore in a Task Sequence, it is not possible to customize the encryption strength to anything besides the default 3DES, since the "/encrypt" is hard coded into the Task Sequence Step. Adding /encrypt:"encryptionstrength" to the "OSDMigrateAdditionalCaptureOptions" TS variable causes the step to fail.

Please add an option to customize the encryption strength for USMT during OSD.

  11. TS Menu

I currently have 3 task sequences. I want to combine all three into one task sequence and present the user with a wizard to ask, which SOE they want to install.

the way around it I have to create a powershell gui script to prompt the user and set the TS variable, then assign that variable to each group in the in task sequence. it gets messy.

I explorerd HTAs, MDT Wizards but these are difficult to adopt and implement in a timely manner.

  12. too many deployments

For a larger organization that handles 120+ image configurations (same base image but different software installed depending on the task sequence used), we run into problems with the deployment size to 'unknown computers' being too large and ends up breaking imaging to unknown machines.

We'd like to see this limit either increased or removed, as it's constantly causing us issues.

  13. Add ALL reg key types as options in Task Sequence conditions

In the conditions for Task Sequence steps, the only reg key type you can use the 'exists' or 'not exists' options for is REG_SZ. I would like to see the others REG_MULTI_SZ, REG_EXPAND_SZ, REG_DWORD, REG_QWORD, REG_BINARY. Similarly, when you choose 'equals' or any of the other operators, the only options are REG_SZ, REG_EXPAND_SZ, and REG_DWORD. The other options should be available there as well.

  14. Add Windows 10 In-Place Upgrade Task Sequence Reminders with an Enforced Installation Deadline

It would be great if we had the option to set a required Windows 10 in place upgrade Task Sequence with scheduled notifications for users with an installation deadline. This would allow In-Place upgrade deployments to be enforced ensuring timely Windows 10 version updates whilst allowing the end user enough time to schedule the upgrade.

  15. Advise which dependency failed during OSD on the screen as well as the log.

I work in an environment that does not allow me to enable the command prompt in a boot image. This makes it difficult to check what went wrong. During the dependency check in a PXE advise which dependencies failed on the screen as well as the log. It would be good to state if the NIC and storage drivers are working ok.

  16. Import settings from one Task Sequence into another

Currently Task Sequences can be backed up and restore via the ConfigMgr PowerShell module. When it is time for Dev TS's to become production, it would be nice to be able to import the settings from the Dev TS directly into the production one. This way deployments don't need to be recreated and changes don't need to be meticulously documented and recreated in the production TS.
Simply replacing the prod TS with the Dev one isn't as clean as new TS's take much, much longer to show up in the Software Center.

  18. Operating System Deployment and Power Management - temporarily disable automatic sleep for large content download

A nice feature would be an integrated solution to allow a computer to remain awake during large content download. We currently have the ability to WOL for deployments, but in a some situations where content is not pre-staged/downloaded or if you use the option to download all content locally before running a task sequence the computer can sleep during content download. A use case is for this example is Windows 10 in-place upgrade TskSeq. Please implement a Power Availability Request based on process or thread to resolve this issue. The alternative of managing custom power plans or hacking a toggleā€¦

  19. Feature check Package Hash mismatch errors with packages referenced to Task Sequence on Distribution points.

Feature check Package Hash mismatch errors with packages referenced to Task Sequence on Distribution points.

I hope there might be lots of package hash mismatch errors with packages when we do OSD deployments and applications deployments.

As every one is migrating/updating current SCCM to new Current branch.

a feature can be added to check the hash values are correct on distribution points to correc the issues to avoid delays in providing the support to for deployments.

This feature can be help full to check the single package status on slected DP or multiple.

Also to check with packages/applications referenced toā€¦

  20. Set CCMEXEC Service to "Auto" while running a OS Task Sequence

It would be cool, if you set the CCMEXEC Service to "Auto" automatically while running a Task Sequence. After OS Deployment run, it sould be set to "Delayed" again.

This would Speed up OS Deplyoment up to 15 Minutes!

(We tested it in here with a TS Step after CCMSetup Step) cmd /c sc config "CcmExec" start= auto
