  1. Allow for Preaction for Software Updates

With third party updates now in the Software Center we still have a problem with Bitlocker. If you install the Dell Bios update it will install, reboot and flash your BIOS and then force a Bitlocker Recovery event.

In the Software Deployment for Software Updates it would be nice to have the ability to have a check box with several actions, much like you already have for the Write-filter for embedded devices.

    Have a check box for:
    -Suspend Bitlocker on reboot
    -Stop Service : ***.EXE
    -run Pre-Script: ***.PS1
-Run Post-Script [Before or After reboot]: ***.PS1

  2. Add button to add Automatic Deployment Rule Criteria to a new custom search

Would be nice to create a new custom search from an Automatic Deployment Rule.

Add a button near the "Preview" that will create a new custom search or replace an existing one.

  3. Allow editing and expiration of Third-Party Software Updates

Please add full functionality of SCUP to the Third-Party Software Update feature. Adobe Acrobat catalogs don't expire older updates and don't include supersedence information. I normally added supersedence settings through SCUP to mitigate this. Without the ability to edit this information or to expire old updates manually, deploying Acrobat updates becomes unwieldy. Unexpired updates that are not superseded will likely bloat and fill up the data shares. If you can publish it, you should be able to expire it.

  4. Add 'OS Build' Column in Updateinfo for each update

The UBR is also used to identify a machine is complaint to cumulative monthly patch or not.

Now that we have OS build (Buildext or UBR) info add to V_R_System via DDR, it would be great if the same UBR or OS Build is added to each update in V_Updateinfo table in SCCM Database
when the new updates released by Microsoft on MSPD, so that the win 10 compliance reporting would be much simpler.

  5. ADR - Add a Collection filter for required updates

Add a filter in the ADR rules to filter on members of collections. So an ADR rule can have required by more than one device (>=1), but limited to required updates by collection membership

  6. Windows Update Agent Version

Would it be possible to have a visual queue in the Software Updates console a hint of which KBs are delivering which Windows Update Agent?

  8. Need to be able to select a device group when scanning for updates

Being able to select a device group when scanning for updates and only seeing updates that are missing from that group would be a huge help.
currently the counts reflect the whole environment which is much less helpful.

  9. Remove unused Vendor classifications from SUP

Remove unused Vendor classifications from SUP.

As l have been configuring SCCM 1806 with Third Party Patching, l am now left with unwanted Vendors being listed in SUP and SUP Reports.

    Can these be pruned/removed?

  10. Improve feature update system - 60 minutes is too short a max run time.

Allocate more than 60 minutes max runtime to a feature update, or at least have the feature update/ConfigMgr tell the user it was aborted because their PC is too slow. At the moment software center just keeps saying 'installing'. setupact.log has a MOUPG entry noting % progress.
changing max runtime has no affect unless re-deployed.

  11. Maintenance Window Blackout

In some certain scenarios, it would benefit to have the ability to Blackout Existing Maintenance Windows (universal) for a specifc date or range of days.

e.g. systems maintenance or migration in progress for three days, I don't want those systems to be touched by deployments or software updates as to not cause disruption. Or in a case where its a holiday week and high volume of sales so would like to "pause" any automated actions that could cause reboots within a specified date(s)/time(s).

  12. Software Updates need by collection

We manage software updates for Servers and Windows Clients within our primary SCCM server. We need the ability to easily filter updates needed by devices in a specified Collection/s. We need this filter to be available in the Automatic Deployment Rule wizard so that we can also automate creation/updating of Software Update Groups and Deployment packages. Currently we're having to add every single product for server clients into the product filter and it is risky risks using this method as over time software changes will not be captured unless ADR is reviewed constantly. Also risk of duplicate updates being downloadedā€¦

  13. Software Updates Required View Status

    Software Updates Required View Status

Can we get an option to view status like in deployment status to view machines that are required and installed? We have no idea what does machines are.

    Thanks.

  14. Do not run Server Group's node drain scripts when installing definition updates

If you define a server group and use Windows Defender you might want to update those definitions as early as possible.

Currently, those definition updates trigger the node drain and resume skripts, which can lead to service downtime.
Additionally, the updates can only be installed during maintenance windows.

    I want you to
    a) add an option in deployment in software update groups to always ignore maintenance windows
    b) add an option in deployment in software update groups to ignore server group settings

  16. Quick link to computers missing an update

Listing updates in the CM console I can see compliance level in a pie chart. It would be good if I directly from there could list all objects that are missing the update I'm looking at in the same way as we are able to navigate to the monitoring part for a package being distributed.

  17. Mximum runtime of Server 2016 Cumulative Updates

For the last three months we've had to install the Server 2016 cumulative updates manually on the Servers as they have been failing with the error 0x87D0070C (-2016409844) shown in software center. From reading other posts I can see that this is a 'software update execution timeout' error and that by adjusting the maximum runtime of the update it will resolve the issue.

I changed the runtime from 60 minutes to 240 minutes and this fix did indeed work but I don't want to have to do this every month. I saw that the previous problem was because the updateā€¦

  18. Configurable Software Update instllation time

With Windows 10 and Server 2016 updates taking longer to install than previous versions of Windows. It would be helpful to be able to be able to set a site wide setting for the default installation time given for software updates. Currently this is 10 minutes but we are having to manually set this to 60 minutes on each update presently.

  19. Add a "superseding update deployed" column to the Software Updates node(s)

When a software update has a superseded = yes, it would be useful to also be able to see if the superseding update is deployed, to verify it is safe to remove from a given software update group.

  20. windows 10 1803 with newer updates shows as "Other"

Windows 10 1803 builds with more recent cumulative updates show up as "Other" on the Windows 10 servicing summary. This is with SCCM 1802 with all hotfixes installed.
