  3. Software Update Groups - Speed up 'Edit membership'

'Edit membership' is unuseable if you've got many update groups. Please add simple tools like 'Add update(s) to existing group(s)', 'Remove update(s) from group(s)' and 'Remove Update(s) from this group' (if you're in context of an update group).
The sub dialogues of this aditional functions shouldn't provide the information in which update group the patches are listed because the query runs too long. Just let us choose the groups form a simple search list. A filter to minimize the list of results would also be fine.

  4. ADR for servers need some love

We are using ADR for a pilot group and then for two different automatic groups, but we cant use it for our manual group.

What i would love to see:

1: Be able to configure multiple deploys within the same ADR. today we are using three ADR just because it deploys to different collections with different maintenance windows.

2: Be able to use the ADR for our manual group, deploy the patches to our collection for manual servers as Available! When we need to go in to CM just to deploy patches already deployed just to get them as availableā€¦

  5. Show Deployment Package for Software Update

Would be great to have a tab on the properties of each Software Update that shows what Deployment Package(s) the update is included in. You can see what updates are in a Deployment Package, but not what Deployment Packages an updates are in.

  6. Customized Pilot user section in Software Center

It would ne nice to have the ability to flip a switch that allows users to then see an area in Software center where they could join the company pilot group. Currently we have to manually maintain a list of users. This way, users could opt in to the pilot group for their machine. Pilot deployments would then be distinguishable from standard deployments so the user would know what was going on. Also a way for them to send feedback to the SCCM team would be great, even if it was just a thumbs up/down.

  7. Bring Servicing Plans into Parity with WUfB/Intune or Kill Them

Since the initial release of Win 10 servicing plans they haven't kept up with their WUfB/Intune companions. While I can appreciate that many are not using servicing I feel it's a bit of a chicken and egg problem.

    Specifically:
Remove SAC-T at some point (Win 10 1903 and beyond won't have it)
    Increase the delay to 365
    Configure the uninstall period (2-60)
    Support the Insider releases.

Alternatively, since WUfB is now integrated into the console just get rid of servicing plans entirely. In such case you may want to integrate the dual scan configuration into the WUfB node.

  8. Change software update group pie chart to show only deployed collections

I'd like the pie chart shown to change for it to only show the amount of compliant, non-compliant devices that that SUG is deployed to.

  9. Give us the ability to customize the maximum run time based on update type

The Cumulative Updates for Windows Server 2016 are taking longer and longer every month. I'm now seeing a lot of servers reaching the timeout after 60 minutes, and I have to bump it up to 90 for them to successfully install the update the following month. Could you give us a way to specify a custom maximum run time for Cumulative Updates and the Monthly Rollups so we can adjust it ourselves as they get bigger and take longer?

  10. Ability to configure maximum runtime for software updates in ADR

The default settings for maximum runtime are not optimal for the cumulative updates as they often take longer to install. It would be ideal if you could increase the default or allow for the time to be set by the ADR. I often have to remember to go back and increase default time on all deployed updates.

  11. ADR-Search criteria (Software Updates)

when creating/editing ADR, the list of software updates (products, languages, etc) should list only the information that has been selected on the sup information.

ie. it should not list all products or languages if you only have selected english and windows 10.

  12. SCCM ADRS: Cannot setup ADR for a Date Range, Only out to 1 Year.

Currently you can search for patches for a range, for example:
AND Date Released or Revised is between 1/1/2001 and 5/1/2019
AND Required is greater than or Equal to = 1
    Expired=No
    Superseded=No

But When Creating an ADR you cannot specify the date range for Needed\Required Patches that meet that same criteria. You can only deploy Patches released within the Last Year in an ADR.

This is a Patching requirement for us, and most Fortune 500 Companies. We have to be able to deploy Patches that might be needed that are older than a Year. ADR's need to be ableā€¦

  13. ADR - Limit Package Size

    ADR - Limit Package Size:
within the automatic deployment configuration enable an option to limit the size of the package and when reached create a new package automatically. the screnn should be able to provide a pattern for the packagename

  15. Content Size (KB) Column in SCCM Console

In SCCM console, Software Library --> Software Updates, I have never seen the 'Content Size (KB) column' ever populated with the size of an update, why is this? Would it be possible for this information be passed through? Individual patches have developed into becoming cumulative updates, rollups etc and are considerably larger in size e.g. over 1 Gb each. In some instances they fail to install on low spec servers because they are marked with what seems to be the standard 'Maximum Run Time' of 10 Min. Knowing the update size and the MTU set within the view of theā€¦

  16. Add the ability to disable a deployment on a per computer basis

In the computer properties we can see all deployments to a system. It would be helpful to have enable/disable options at this level.

Use case: a new SUG is deployed to an all servers collection each month. For some reason, a subset of the targeted systems need to be removed for the current month's deployment, but removal from the collection as a whole is not desired due to all other 'good' deployments to that collection. If that one deployment to that server or set of servers can be toggled to disabled, the deployment as a whole can continue except forā€¦

  17. Include cross-references to embedded updates in http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com

Sometimes Microsoft embeds KBs into other KBs.

For example, KB3173424 and KB3173426 (depending on OS) are embedded into MS16-100 KB3172729

This can be seen in the SCCM 2012 R2 console by right-clicking the Security Update for Windows Server 2012 (or R2) (KB3172729), select "Properties", "Content Information" tab.

But this information is not indexed reliably elsewhere and it should be.

    Request for feature implementation:
Include cross-references to embedded updates in http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com data

    Example:
In http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=3173426 package details, there could be a reference to say something like "This update is embedded into KB3172729" and conversely in the entries for KB3172729, it couldā€¦

  18. Enable the Software Updates Catalog file to be downloaded using an ACP

The Software Updates catalog file is not considered a true piece of content by Microsoft CM, but can be 25MB+ in size. Also, whenever a full client reset is initiated, this entire file must be downloaded again. This can put heavy strain on the network links.

This request is to enable Alternate Content Provider (ACP) distribution of this file using 3rd-party ACP product.

  20. Error when attempting to change Office 365 Application Language

When attempting to create an Office 365 installer it defaults to English (United Kingdom) but when deploying this installer to machines it gives the error (This installation requires a compatible Microsoft Office program installed on your computer)

When attempting to change the installer to another language by clicking the add/remove button next to "Languages" the admin console throws the error "The given key was not present in the dictionary"
