  1. make "Prefer cloud based sources over on-premise sources" also apply to Microsoft Update

Even though Microsoft Docs lists Microsoft Update as supported cloud sources (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/configmgr/core/servers/deploy/configure/boundary-groups#bkmk_bgoptions4), "Prefer cloud based sources over on-premise sources" does not seem to apply to Microsoft Update content in the case of an AlwaysOn VPN scenario where devices would show in "intranet" all the time.
The only alternative option is splitting up update deployments (VPN vs Non-VPN) and working with the download settings on the individual deployments, which is very cumbersome. If a client falls into a boundary group which has the setting enabled, it should respect it and use Windows Update for source content.

  2. More options for phased deployments

Phased Deployments are generally limited to two deployments at a time, it would be great to extend this to reduce administration work over large deployments.

Additionally you have to go into the deployment and manually configure additional options such as allow clients to download over tethering, it would be handy to configure this step from the phased deployment window so you do not need to go back and set this manually in the deployment.

  5. It would be better include check box to select or deselect Software updates in SCCM.

At the moment all we can select Software updates by clicking each of Software updates and sometimes it cause confusion. It would be good if we can have kind of Check box option where we can select or deselect Software updates in SCCM console.

  6. The ability to log off disconnected users from servers.

    Hi All,

We notice that when using ADR's, that servers will not restart in their defined maintance Window when there is a disconnect user running in the background.

A option to log off all disconnected user within the deployment of a ADR of perhaps in server groups would be a great addition.

  7. More options for Software Update Summarization

It would be nice to have more options within the software update summarization. Today you only have the options to select days/hours. I have seen/heard where larger organizations have trouble running this in a timely manner. Some options would be to only summarize updates that are deployed and/or summarize updates that have been released/revised in x amount of days.

  8. If trustedinstaller is disabled manual deployment of patches should report failure instead of not applicable

When an MS endpoint has the trustedinstaller disabled, and a requirement to manually deploy a patch is in place, the system will report an update as not applicable. This should instead be reported as a block or failure during the check process. This in turn should be used for sccm reporting as the system will show as compliant when it is in fact not complaint.

  9. Set maintenance windows just after Patch Tuesday

Could we set the maintenance window just after patch Tuesday as Patch Tuesdays might be on the second or third Tuesday of the month. And the current setting could only happen on specified day of the month. Could we have a option just after after Tuesday,

  10. Have Software Centre Updates include more info than status: past due will be installed

Instead of having a status: past due will be installed. Include a date and time when the update will either try to be installed or will retry.

  11. Auto Phased Deployment

Scenario: Right now I have about 8000 computers that need feature updates. I don't want to update them all at one time. It would be nice to tell CM to update one big collection, but do a set number per week. For instance, create a collection of 8000 machines, and set it to update 250 per week until it is done, or set a gradual duration of say 6 months to update the whole collection. This would work great for large application deployments as well. This way, the deployment could also be stopped if problems arise.

  12. Context menue - ADD function "Expired update"

Context menue - ADD function "Expired update"

it would make live easier to expire updates directly in the memcm console instead of using powershell or the WSUS...

specially in the 3rd party patching area it would make sense to get rid of unwanted updates in an easy professional and smart way...

  13. Customisation of restart message

The pop-up message displayed requiring the user to restart the pc after a software or update is intstall does not display information regarding the software requiring restart. The client settings in SCCM does not provide the possibility of making any such granular configuration. I therefore request Microsoft to provide a way of customising the pop-up messages in the concole

  14. M365 Offline Updates Exporter Utility - Language Selection

M365 Offline Updates Exporter Utility - Language Selection

Provide language option for OfficeUpdateExporter.exe so that only content related to language of choice is downloaded for an update (rather than update content for all languages). This would reduce a significant amount of time and disk space when gathering M365 App updates.

  17. Updates

Please stop updating laptops or PC in between work. This issue needs to be fixed. There should be an option to set the update or restart. And it should also ask permission before restarting. This way we donā€™t lose our unsaved data.

  18. Can expiration setting be split for Software Updates and Feature Updates.

Recently, we meet old feature update has been refreshed bundle issue and this make previous feature update be superseded by later one. Previous feature update become expired and removed from the update deployment group. Can we split expiration setting for normal security updates and feature update so that the feature update refresh will not make old feature update be explired?

  19. While creating an ADR to deploy the updates, can we have an option to choose the updates release times as "between so an so hours" option.

While creating an Auto Deploy Rules(ADR) to deploy the updates, can we have an option to choose the updates release times as "between so an so hours" option. We only have options like "Last 1/2/3/4/8 hours" etc, I need to deploy something that got released between last 4 to 12 hours" as an example. I'm trying to deploy the definition updates in a phased manner to 3 different collection. Cert, Pilot & Prod. So that the prod collections will have patches released between last 8 to 12 hours and should not contains anything that released in the last 8 hours.

  20. Expose third party update category in the Configuration Manager Console

When syncing third party updates, consider recording category information for each update. Then that information could be exposed in the console, which would make searching, selecting and deploying/targeting third party updates easier. Especially for third party updates that are drivers, this would make the experience similar to "native" Drivers in OSD, where we can put drivers in (multiple) categories and use that information to better organize drivers and facilitate cleanup. Also, in the current absence of cleanup options, this would make clean up of third party drivers from WSUS easier as it would replace the need for administrator to parseā€¦
