  1. ADR – Software Updates Property Filters

When creating a new ADR software update you have the option to select the property filters and search criteria’s in the wizard. It would be beneficial for an advanced search technique or “wild card” to identify those filters that are broader. For Example: -%Cumulative Update for .NET Framework%Windows 10 Version 1809

  2. campaigning notifications or UI for Inplace windows Upgrades

Instead of relying on custom powershell script for customization and UI design ,Is it not good to have some options in CM directly which can be used for every release of windows rollouts to have better user experience.

and may be some notifications msgbox about releases like a campaigning through SCCM.

  6. under software updates a custom column to set a flag if update is flawed

nice to have a self-defined column under SoftwareLibary-SoftwareUpdates-all Software Updates to mark for yourself whether an update is flawed or not. for example, set a flag (red, yellow, green)

  7. Windows 10 Build Updates - Use standardized terminology please

Why are the Windows 10 build upgrades under the UPGRADES classification, but called "Feature UPDATES" and listed in the "All Windows 10 UPDATES"?

  8. Install software update step fails during OSD with timeout error when clients connect from slowly bandwidth sites when SUP is remote

Customer has large number of remote sites close to 1000 sites with slow bandwidth, they have local DP's to keep content transfer local and they are also okay with download SUP catalog over the WAN for a regular client .. however same design does not work for OSD process wherein Install software update step fails on all machine form the remote location during OSD with timeout error after 30 minutes as it cannot download 500MB catalog data in the allotted 30 minutes..

  9. Easy copy or transfer of software update files between deployment packages

Sometimes, a software update needs to be copied or moved from one deployment package to another. This is especially useful for keeping deployment packages smaller and more efficient when using Automatic Deployment Rules (ADR). Currently, updates always need to be re-downloaded from the internet or a source location. This is inefficient and can be time consuming as well.

  10. bulletin id

In All Software Updates Node > sort by Bulletin ID Look for MS017-010. Only Windows server 2008 updates appear. However this information is not correct. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/ms17-010.aspx this bulletin also applies to Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10. Bulletin IDs should be set for all affected operating systems.

  11. Only suppress restart when there is a user logged on

In a WSUS-only environment you can with the GPO "No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations" instruct the WUA to only force a restart if no one is logged on. Being a 365/7/24-site this functionality is a the top of the wish list for CM.

  12. Sort by date in ADR Software Updates preview

When using the preview button and then sorting by date, the default behavior is by sorting the data ascending or descending from the first number in the date column. This should be sorted by the actual date, not the first number.

  13. Offer a re-download option for updates in an existing package.

When a package is out of sync and it wants a folder that is not on your server anymore. Offer a re-download option for updates or a reset counter for the updates in the package to not downloaded so it can download the a updates again and replicate.

  14. Soft and Hard Deadlines for Software updates

Software updates need a 'hard' deadline so that computers who have hit the updates but never leave their computers on within a maintenance windows, will never have the updates installed.

1st : Deployments made available for users to install at their leisure from the software center. Possible

2nd : After say 1 week, install the updates as per maintenance windows in the evening. Possible

3rd : After 1 more week if not yet installed, just install no matter what at any time, with the standard notifications for reboots as per SCCM client settings. "Currently not possible"

  15. Bug: Folders for Software Updates are not independent for Windows 10 Servicing and Office 365

Consider the following user story on 1802:

I decided to organize all my software updates that are synchronized in my hierarchy by creating folders such as YYYY-MM. After performing move operations on these updates that were released within this format I noticed that the folders are duplicated underneath the 'Windows 10 Servicing" node and Office 365 Updates node. When I browse for the updates in the folders I created under "All Software Updates" my updates visible as expected; however these folders are triplicated down the side of the console and are all empty in other nodes.

    From the All Software…

  16. Third party update Dell Update group by models

    1. When creating new ADR only published Dell updates are searchable to be added, any updates that are not published won’t be shown in the search results. Since publish updates means having updates downloaded first, we have to manually publish the updates we need before creating the ADR selectively, which brings up issue #2;
    2. Since in issue #1 we need to publish updates first before we can create new ADRs, can we group Dell updates by models, say all Dell updates for 9020, since we want to filter Dell updates only with the models we have, then we create…

  17. If you rename a Software Update Group, ADR is not working anymore

    Hi,

please check if this is a bug or we made something weird: If you rename a Software Update Group which is created by an Automatic Deployment Group, the ADR is crashing on next run.

Sometimes we need to rename them if a product is added or removed.

Cool Option would be if you rename an ADR, the Name of the Group + Deployment will be updated with a new Name, too.

    Thanks in Advance

    Florian

  18. Have an option to decline or stop/prevent a Windows Update from deploying from the SCCM Console.

I wanted to block an update from deploying the other day and didn't see a button/option to say DECLINE / DONT DEPLOY within the Configuration Manager Console. I saw the update had been downloaded already, but had not been deployed. So I wanted to make sure it would not get deployed at all. I had to go into the WSUS server and decline the Update these and then re-synch the sccm database.
Quick DECLINE or STOP / BLOCK button would be nice. Or an UNINSTALL/REMOVE button.

  19. Updates delivered via "Windows 10 Servicing" or through "Surface Drivers and Firmware Updates" features never report "installed" numbers

Software Updates delivered via "Windows 10 Servicing" or through "Surface Drivers and Firmware Updates" features never report "installed" numbers. They report how many systems require the updates, or how many are unknown or not required. This makes it hard to tell how many systems have updated, especially when we're testing new drivers or new operating system versions. There are other ways of determining what OS versions are out there, but none that really help us determine which OSes upgraded to 1709 by a Windows 10 Servicing software update Vs. a Windows 10 1709 OS Upgrade task sequence (at least these…

  20. Deploy multiple selected Software Update Groups at once.

When multiple Software Update Groups are selected we cannot deploy them at once to a new collection.
