  1. Soft and Hard Deadlines for Software updates

Software updates need a 'hard' deadline so that computers who have hit the updates but never leave their computers on within a maintenance windows, will never have the updates installed.

1st : Deployments made available for users to install at their leisure from the software center. Possible

2nd : After say 1 week, install the updates as per maintenance windows in the evening. Possible

3rd : After 1 more week if not yet installed, just install no matter what at any time, with the standard notifications for reboots as per SCCM client settings. "Currently not possible"

  2. Bios & Firmware Centre

While there is some nice ideas to update bios and firmware, it tends to require a lot of customisation. It would be nice to have a new feature in Software updates dedicated to this. Just construct a framework and hopefully the tier 1 vendors would provide the 'plugin' to be able to update/patch within SCCM

  3. Deploy multiple selected Software Update Groups at once.

When multiple Software Update Groups are selected we cannot deploy them at once to a new collection.

  4. Include Dashboards For Status On Update Deployments

Including dashboards for Windows Update status seems like it should be included already but they aren't.

  5. Provide an Install Updates TS step which uses DISM

There should be an Install Software Updates TS step which allows you to select an existing Software Update Group/Deployment Package and apply all those updates using DISM rather than just triggering a scan of available deployed updates.

  7. Publish third party software update content

Publish third party software update content even that catalog were added to WSUS by another application, tool, or script, such as SCUP.

  8. Sort by date in ADR Software Updates preview

When using the preview button and then sorting by date, the default behavior is by sorting the data ascending or descending from the first number in the date column. This should be sorted by the actual date, not the first number.

  9. Filtrar Updates

Crear un mecanismo que permita filtrar en el catálogo de Windows Update cuales actualizaciones no quiere filtrar de forma automática, como .NET u otras que no quiera descargar.

  10. Deploye Software Updates and create Collection automatically

Cuando tengo una actualización semestral de Windows 10, que desde la misma actualización sea posible crear el despliegue sobre aquellos equipos que la requieran, ya que de esa forma se asegura que el despliegue se va a realizar sobre las máquinas que realmente lo requieren.

  11. Optionally Maintain Software Update Client Config When Removing Last Software Update Point

When you remove the last Software Update Point in an environment, clients will lose their Software Update client configurations. While it’s hard to argue with that logic it does create a catch-22.
SUPs are based on WSUS and WSUS is terrible. Which means you will probably need to rebuild it someday. If you only have one SUP and you uninstall it now your clients suddenly lose their Software Update client configuration. Since configuring Windows Update with GPO is discouraged because it conflicts with ConfigMgr’s local policy config most organizations leave this not configured. When clients revert to the GPO controlled…

  12. Track total client activity time using bgb data

Active clients should connect regularly to SCCM over the BGB status (it is what is used to determine if a client is 'online/offline' today). My organization tracks patch compliance closely, and part of that measure is determining if the client was online long enough in a given day to actually complete compliance related activities, such as installing the latest CU. We would like a way, likely using the BGB channel data, to determine how long a client is online in a given period of time, with flexibility to quantify by day, by week, by month, etc.

  13. Allow to Pick Collection in "Add Criteria" list under All Software Updates

Is it possible to allow pick collection in "Add Criteria" list under All Software Updates? This will allow us to quickly filter only required updates for systems in particular collection and quickly create Software Update Group.
Just like report "Compliance 4 - Updates by vendor month year" which allows us to pick collection.

  14. Add features to mark patch as favorite or pin it

We create software update Group clubbing patches together
if you could add some feature like when we right click on any patch we can get option to pic the patch or mark as start/favorite for example if we are searching for the missing patches/want to remove couple of patches from the SUG and finding is easy however each time search and removing will be more waste of time instead of it during search we will pin point/mark as start icon on the patch to remove later once at time that is idea behind requesting create/enable such features in SCCM.

  16. Do not run Server Group's node drain scripts when installing definition updates

If you define a server group and use Windows Defender you might want to update those definitions as early as possible.

Currently, those definition updates trigger the node drain and resume skripts, which can lead to service downtime.
Additionally, the updates can only be installed during maintenance windows.

    I want you to
    a) add an option in deployment in software update groups to always ignore maintenance windows
    b) add an option in deployment in software update groups to ignore server group settings

  17. Software Updates and Required count can link to all devices that need the update.

When you're in "Software Updates", there is the "Required" column that shows you a number of devices that need that particular update. It would be nice to be able to add something to a right click menu to automatically create a collection of those devices that need the update. Something similar to what you have when you create a Baseline Deployment.

  18. Ability to easily link a script for SCCM controller reboots.

In a large enterprise environment its sometimes important to shutdown several services on the local and remote servers in a particular order. It would be nice to be able to easily manage startup/shutdown scripts from a central area that you could attach at the single asset level. Ie a tab that has these items at the single asset

  19. compliance baselines should allow for compliance checks against software update groups

currently we can only really select individual updates for creating a compliance baseline, it would be great if we could add compliance baselines based on a software updates group

  20. A security patch showing how many devices need it should also have a hyperlink to the names of the devices needing it.

When a security patch is selected, it shows how many devices are in need of it. Clicking on the 'Required' count should show the device names. It would be helpful to see the information right away than running a report to find the same.
