  1. In the Summary views for a software update or software update group, make the statistics link through to a list of the machines

In the Software Library summary tab for SUGs and individual updates, make the Statistics pie chart and Compliant, Non-Compliant and Unknown counts link to a dynamic collection of machines in a specific state, similar to the Endpoint Protection monitoring views.

We manage both servers and workstations in our SCCM primary site. It would be great in the Software Updates workspace or node in the console when you are viewing all updates to be able to scope of filter the applicability to a collection.

Since we use the console to build software update groups based off of applicability of the updates for both servers and workstations and two different groups deploy it would be great to be able to only see what is needed for either just workstations or just servers or even better just browse to a collection and thenā€¦

  3. Create maintenance task to clean expired/superseded updates from SUGs and Deployment Packages

right now, you have to manually delete expired/superseded updates from your deployment package(s) and then remove expired/superseded updates from software update groups. if this could be added as a maintenance task, it would be a huge help to SUP maintenance

  4. Allow periods in SUG Names

This is rather annoying when you are trying to deploy updates that have a period in their name or version number

Can this be looked at for future builds so we can create SUGs with names like "SUG - .NET Framework 4.6.1" and not "SUG - DOTNET Framework 4-6-1"?

    :)

  5. Automatic Deployment Rules

It would be great if when you configure a rule of automatic deployment, we could set through a calendar for the ADR-Automatic Deployment Rules run.

In my environment, I need the rule of automatic deployment run from Monday to Friday, because I enable Wake On Lan feature to customers with upgrade and SCAN the SCEP-antimalware System Center solution Endpoint Protection set.

  6. Different business hour for different days

It will be good to allow options for users to select different timing for different days in the business hour setting Eg. 10am to 4pm on Monday, 12pm to 6pm on Tuesday, etc

  7. ADR for servers need some love

We are using ADR for a pilot group and then for two different automatic groups, but we cant use it for our manual group.

What i would love to see:

1: Be able to configure multiple deploys within the same ADR. today we are using three ADR just because it deploys to different collections with different maintenance windows.

2: Be able to use the ADR for our manual group, deploy the patches to our collection for manual servers as Available! When we need to go in to CM just to deploy patches already deployed just to get them as availableā€¦

  8. Include Reset/Repair functionality of the Windows Update Agent

When troubleshooting failed installations of Software Updates, a simple reset of the Windows Updates Agent resolves the issue. It would be great to include some type of automated reset/repair functionality of the Windows Update Agent.

    Software update - SUP

Need to allow the SCCM client cache to remove software updates and to also to remove software in the cache if the software updates exceeds the cache size.

  11. Allow postponing windows updates

Allow the end user to postpone windows updates and show in the console user/computer name of the postponed computer. Currently the console has vague reasons for software failure.

  12. Merge Windows 10 Servicing menu to Software Updates menu

    Hello Team,

I have noticed that when we create a Windows 10 Servicing plan, that the deployement package is on the Sofware Updates -> Deployment Packages.

And so may be i think it could be nice to get all option on the same way : i mean it should be annoying to navigate from Windows 10 Servicing menu to Software Updates menu in order to find the Windows 10 Servicing Deployment Packages.

  13. Integrate Microsoft Custom Support program into SCCM.

The current process requires logging into a separate website; downloading the required updates, Scan cab files and/or .xml files running the WSUS Import tool or wsusutil.exe. Then you need to approve the updates in WSUS and then maybe, if nothing went wrong somewhere must run a sync with SCCM in order to make the updates available through Software Updates in SCCM.

  14. Add the new "Release Preview" ring to the Windows 10 Servicing feature of ConfigMgr Current Branch.

Microsoft has added a new release ring for Windows 10 called "Release Preview" which is closer to Current Branch than the Insider Previews (Fast/Slow). This seems like a great candidate for organizations to use with their existing production pilot programs so they can test against their key use cases of technology before wider deployment. Using this ring for testing would buy more time if issues are found before the end of a branch's servicing/support life cycle. It can also help organizations plan for new features better ahead of time.

  16. extended criteria for ADR's and more than one product when doing manual searches

I would love to have more criteria options for ADRs. It would be nice to be able to pick from a date range. Or have a yes or no option to is it deployed as well as all the other options when you do a manual search. Also when you do a manual search, it would be nice to be able to select more than one product at a time.

  17. "Cluster Aware" Patching Variables

With the new Cluster Aware patching in TP3, I would like to see dynamic variables that you can call into your pre and post scripts that would tell you which machines are currently getting patched, and which machines are currently up. This would allow admins to write a more simplistic script where it queries a variable instead of having to build a script that test connections and make sure its not installing software updates. Example scenario would be patching Hyper-V clusters, where you need to keep all VM's up and running. We could query the variable, to move the VMsā€¦

  18. Take a look at Ninte and make sccm a bit more like that.

Ninte.com manages app updates in a very elegant way that I think sccm could implement for patches. What i am most intrigued is that I can single out a machine and check, or single out an update and check from the same console.

  19. Force install of software updates before deadline

Currently we have an available time and a deadline time, it would be great if we could also have a time where all the updates that could be downloaded to a client and then install all of the ones that it can until a reboot is needed, and then still wait until the deadline fore that reboot.

we give our users 2 weeks t o download and install, but even after communicating with them that installing will no force the reboot until the 2 weeks are up, the majority still insist on not installing until the deadline, and of courseā€¦

  20. Better define Software Update Supersedence Tab

The supersedence behavior is misleading and poorly documented. If you select the months to wait to expire an update and select 1, it is in effect the same result as immediately expiring any updates they are superdeded. The reality is that if you want to keep a patch for a month after it is superseded, you need this value to be 2.

    Very misleading...
