  1. Add/remove a device from a collection using MEMAC portal

When you have implemented Tenant Attach with TP2005, you can see the collections a device is member of from Microsoft Endpoint Manager Admin Console portal. This is a great feature!

One of most common helpdesk tasks is the need to add/remove a device from a collection. You should be able to add a device as a direct member to a selected collection from MEMAC portal. And you should be able to remote the device from any collections the device is a direct member.

  2. VPN boundary type enhancements

The new VPN boundary type in TP2005 is great!

I have some suggestions to make it even more useful :)

    1. An option (specific to the VPN boundary) such that any clients associated with it due to being detected as VPN connected will ignore all other boundaries. In other words, with the option enabled the VPN boundary supersedes all other boundaries.
      >> This would fix the hypothetical (ha!) situation where an internal network IP boundary exists for 192.168.1.0/24 and conflicts with VPN-connected clients originating from common 192.168.1.0/24 home user networks.

  3. Integrate "Privileged Identity Management" blade in Endpoint Manager Console

Please integrate the "Privileged Identity Management" blade in Endpoint Manager Console, so that we don't have to use portal.azure.com to activate our privileged roles, we need to administrate our Intune devices.

Even now, the portal.azure.com will be retired and we therefore need to use endpoint.microsoft.com.

  4. Allow Wake Up Client Notification if Client = No

Currently, if the Client = No in SCCM, the Client Notification action menu item is grayed out. This makes sense - why would you want to notify a client to do something if the client isn't installed. However, one of the menu items under Client Notifications is "Wake Up", which doesn't require the computer to be powered on.

But with COVID-19, I have a lot of computers that are in the office that have been off for > 30 days, so the SCCM console shows Client = No. It would be nice to be able to Wake Up computers ifā€¦

  5. Include User OU membership as a field

Add a field to the Users that shows what AD Site they are members of. This is similar to the AD Site view for Computers, just also apply the same type of visibility to the Users so we can easily determine where those users are across the Enterprise. This would help with validating theat their priary devices are in the correct device AD OU for management.

  7. Warn admins prior to secret key or certificate expiry

If you forget to renew your CMG "secret key" before the expiry date, things like distributing content to cloud enabled CMG will fail.

This uservoice is to prompt admins via a banner when the secret key or any self-signed certificates are due to expire.

  8. Make Windows resizable

There are many properties dialogs in SCCM that are not resizable. Please allow all windows to be resizable. For example, the Active Directory Discovery options its difficult to see the entire distinguished name.

  10. Allow console extensions to dynamically add actions based on a function call

Add a way for ConfigMgr console extensions to dynamically define actions that show up in the context menu. Currently extensions need to define all of their actions ahead of time via an XML file. It would be nice if this XML file included support for requesting a list of actions to display from an assembly. Similar to the ActionStateAssembly definition that's used to determine if an action should be allowed, this new method would return a list of actions with the associated function pointers. Suggested method footprint / XML is attached.

  11. Allow console extensions to dynamically set visibility for their actions

Add a way for ConfigMgr console extensions to hide actions based on an assembly call. Right now we can disable an ActionDescription element using the ActionStateAssembly, but it would be nice to be able to hide elements as well. Ideally, this would have the same method signature as the current ActionStateAssembly signature, so we can easily switch between enabling / disabling an action, and showing / hiding an action. Suggested XML / method signature attached.

  13. Management Insights - Filter Group Name

Adding the ability to filter the management insights dashboard by group names would allow customers that - for example - can't use cloud services for security reasons to be able to get a full insight into their environment without having to "ignore" results from groups that aren't relevant to them.

For example, an environment that is unable to use cloud services currently will never have a management insights index of 100%, despite all of their relevant rules being "Completed".

  14. content status

    \Monitoring\Overview\Distribution Status\Content Status
It would be real nice if Content Status tab also indicated if the content is Active or Retired, and a Deployment count, and the Console Path to the App/Package..
So if something is retired I can go remove it from DP's, or if not deployed I can remove it from DP's...

  15. Client discovery info to CMPivot

ConfigMgr client's discovery info has many very useful attributes like OS build, client version, distinguished name, groups, OUs, sites etc.

Unfortunately, discovery info is not available with CMPivot.

  16. Global and personal favorites for CMPivot

CMPivot should have both personal & global (for all ConfigMgr admins) favorites. There should be easier way for more experienced admins to share CMPivot queries for others.

  17. Selected collection lost if check box not ticked

When including collections, in collection membership, the select collections box has checkboxes. If I select a collection to include, then click OK, the selection is lost / not remembered. I know I have to tick that tiny box, but I always forget. And I have to go the round trip of navigating to that collection again ... it's just not intuitive.
What would help is if the tickbox got selected when I click the item, and what would also be good is if highlighting, instead of tickboxes, was the UI element that showed what was selected - so ctrl-select, shift-selectā€¦

  18. Add/Integrate VAMT into MECM. VAMT seems like a natural fit for integration with CM.

Adding VAMT to CM would allow VAMT to leverage CM's DB, CM discovery methods, and make license management much easier to work with. VAMT discovery is slow and cumbersome and its ability to group machines is very limited. It would add yet another feature to CM to make an indispensable tool even more indispensable.

  19. Script should report non-responding workstation names

When running a script against a collection, some workstations are not accessed, it would nice to know which ones and if possible why? Not on? Client not responding etc. But at the very minimum the machine names and if possible the primary user name.

  20. Add description field to the Duplicate hardware identifiers

I've gone through and added several USB NICs and docking stations used for imaging purposes, but there is no easy way to know why any particular Mac (or hardware GUID) is in the list.

So the list will only grow even though NICs will be lost, hardware platforms retired, but the list will always be growing.
